Gasthof located in the very heart of Bavaria, in the countryside full of farms and traditional Bavarian buildings, close to Chiemsee lake and Bavarian Alps. It has a very local atmosphere. Rooms are rather simple, no special luxury, but have all what is needed to stay there in relaxed mood. Rooms at one side of the guesthouse are exposed to the local street so the trafic may disturb a little. Therefore I would advice to ask rooms from the yard side. Equipment in the room / bathroom was not new, but all was well maintained and functioning. Breakfast is not served as buffet, but remains very OK in terms of food selection, quality and quantity. One remark: they do not serve any single slice of vegetable for breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. This gasthaus is recommended to all travellers who want to feel the real local...

Try for instance the Zwiebelrostbraten (roasted beef with onions) and you'll understand why the Gasthof has received an award from the Bavarian ministry. In summer, there's a possibility for outside dining, weather permitting. Definitely worth the trouble to go back, I'd say. Recommended without any hesitation. Go early in the evening, tables tend to get filled up...
