BREXX. Bier. Pizza. Bowling. — Restaurant in Höhr-Grenzhausen

We visited here Friday 1st October 2021 after a draining 5hr 20 minutes 454km drive from home. Brexx is a short distance from the Autobahn and the SatNav got us here quite easily. We arrived around 20:30, it was dark and so difficult to describe the surroundings, (I took a couple of photos of the outside the following morning). However there appears to be a small river with a hotel, this bar (complete with bowling alley) and perhaps one or two other buildings.

Outside there is plenty of parking, we parked up for the night and slept in our camper here. Inside Brexx is a modern'ish' looking place with outside seating, the bar is on the left as you walk in with some raised seating opposite (we sat here later) large windows allows you to look at those playing ten pin bowling, there are 7-8 lanes and it was very busy with a good spread of ages and male and female. We went through to a smaller room beyond the bar where we ate pizza and had beer NEIPA for Loz and a Festbier for me.

I would eventually try 4 or the 5 beers available here, 3 of which were very good and the other a unfortunately was complete a buttery Diacetyl bomb.. The pizza choice was extensive both of ours were very good, reasonably priced and served very quickly. Staff were great, very attentive, we liked it here, it was a great overnight stopover choice. 6 beers and...

I need one of this in Bonn now!! The bowling area is super modern 🎳, nice music, and was the best scenario to spent time with colleagues. The restaurant although small had one of the best pizzas 🍕 I’ve had in my life! Along with the Tiramisu (I mean it! And I was in Italy 🇮🇹). Did I mention that they brew their own beer? 🍺 you can definitely tell that the owner put a lot of effort in providing a pleasant experience to their guests. I was here because of an excursion of my company but I would come back over and over again if it were closer to home....

Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, die Pizzen kreativ und wirklich sehr lecker und das Bier schmeckt vorzüglich. Mann kann gemütlich Bowlen, Billard spielen oder Darten. Ein kleines Manko gab es bei unserem Besuch leider zu verzeichnen. Obwohl wir 10 Tage im Vorfeld, vor Ort reserviert haben (2 Bahnen für 3 Stunden) war die Reservierung am geplanten Tag plötzlich nicht mehr da. Doch nicht der Fehler bewog mich dazu nur 4 von 5 Sternen zu geben. Sondern die Art wie mit dem Fehler umgegangen wurde. Unhöflich war niemand, doch anstelle sich darauf zu konzentrieren was man nun mit den 15 Personen, deren Reservierung plötzlich weg ist, machen kann damit diese doch noch einen schönen Tag erleben können, wurde nur darüber nachgedacht wer diesen Fehler beging. Die zwei netten Damen waren ein wenig überfordert. Es wurde öfter gefragt wer denn diese Reservierung angenommen hat anstelle darüber nachzudenken was nun getan werden kann um den Fehler wieder auszubügeln. Eines muss man als Mitarbeiter immer bedenken, dem Gast ist es egal wer den Fehler beging oder, als Beispiel, wer das Essen schlecht zubereitet hat. Am Ende sagt man: Das Essen im Brexx war schlecht oder die Bedienung im Brexx war unhöflich. Daher ist die Schuldfrage niemals vor dem Gast zu klären. Man entschuldigt sich ganz einfach und macht das Beste draus. Am Ende war es dennoch ein super Tag mit tollem Essen. Und wenn das nächste mal die Kinderessen VOR den Erwachsenen kommen gibt es rein gar nichts zu bemängeln. Auf jeden Fall ist das Brexx zu empfehlen und auch wir werden wieder...
