Cafe Del Sol Hanau — Restaurant in Hanau

We have arrived at the place Saturday, around 19:00 hours. I would like to clarify I am a cook and waiter. I know we as hospitality workers, can’t please everyone, and we are working under enormous pressure, and sometimes professional, training doesn’t even help to solve some of those nerve braking problems. I have Worked in several, Hotels and restaurants, and pubs around the world. Hungary, Austria, Australia, Malaysia, and Germany. So I am always on the hunt for special nice restaurants… We have straight away noticed the outside area has been quiet busy, so we sat by the club site by the window inside the restaurant. 2 of us only. After around 25 minutes, a young lady has been approaching us and took our order. Several young waitresses and waiters been busy taking food from the kitchen which is understandable by the time of the day. After around an other 20 minutes or so I have received my beer and my partner one plate dish. I must say, the area where we have been sitting, had many tables and 6 has been used by customers. Many tables which come after us, has been served and already drinking and waiting for food. The waitresses, doesn’t seem to know how to hold and work with a tray. They are not in control of the orders and the tables. I have not seen everyone up close… Our waitress has been very friendly and tried to ease up our frustration, because of the forgotten drink, with her polite personality. The food arrived with a different waiter, who put it down on our table in the middle, without asking who ordered it, and he doesn’t even said hello, or at least enjoy your food. The food which has been avocado chicken with fries, has been served with a perfectly cooked chicken, sauce has been a bit pushed on the hot side, and took the avocado taste away. Fries has been tasty. In summary, the restaurant is good looking, is a refreshing place which trying to emerge from traditional restaurants, with a very enjoyable design. Unfortunately the service has been only 1 star. Waiting time is just enormous, and not in order. The service stuff Training either not completed or missed. Which put an enormous pressure of the whole experience. I have been waiting for a place with a, nice service and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately a place with a very nice atmosphere, should be higher, much higher with customer care and service. The kitchen can’t pull the whole restaurant forward… but that...

Food was great and delicious here. But what I didn't like was the service. Unfriendly, impatient, inattentive service. First server was kind of impatient and in a bad mood. We felt guilty ordering drinks after a long waiting time. I mean seriously I felt guilty for some reason for his bad mood. The second one when asking for ice kind of got offended after I repeated my question thinking he didn't hear me. Appearantly he heard me cuz he answered annoyed back: "yeah I got you". The third one compared to the first two was better, at least he wasn't annoyed by working as a waiter. But still stressed out and not friendly enough. Yet I tipped him well cuz I was thankful he at least tried. I get it, waiting on table is not an easy job with all the different characters as guests. But friendliness is a big part of this job. You chose to be a waiter, or didn't choose it but you depend on it. So do your job well. I came here partly for service, otherwise I could have cooked something in my own kitchen without dealing with the servers attitude. Rest assure I will never go here again. Nice setting, good food but without a good friendly, attentive service it all means nothing.

Update: I tried not to go here because of my last review as you can read above. But then from my work a gathering took place here and I had no choice. I therefore change my review to a good one. The service, a young girl in her early 20s or late teens, was very attentive. Even though she had so many tables, and I have to say everybody paid separately, she really did a good job. She came around many times asking us if we needed anything or a drink. She was the whole time friendly and parent and that is very much appreciated from us customers. Update: I went this past Saturday evening and I was positively surprised at the recent changes. They have reduced the Menu which results in a faster service. The Waiters were very attentive and the food was great. They have even made changes to the Restrooms.

I have been going to this Restaurant since their Opening over 20 years ago. The experiences vary with good and bad moments. My last visit was a bit uneasy. The Staff was understaffed (I'm sure due to the Corona situation) yet, it took a long time till someone checked on us for drinks. My Order was completely wrong and to get a correct replacement took a very long time, which resulted in my Family finishing their food before my order was finally served. So I kindly requested to get my Desert on the House ( which was granted without hesitation) What needs to be worked on as well are the Conditions of the Restrooms.
