Ganesha Indisches Restaurant Hannover — Restaurant in Hanover

I dined at Ganesha restaurant yesterday on 05.08.2018. It was a treat from a friend of mine. We looked up for the Indian restaurants in Hannover and this was one Restaurant which was open at 16:00 Hrs. We would have gone to other Restaurant with a bit more reviews but they were all closed until 18:00 Hrs.

I would call this a 'confused' cuisine but not Indian. The Restaurant's name is Ganesha, the menu is from Punjabi curry house and the owner is a Sri Lankan. The waiter does not know that Scampi is nothing but prawns. He thought its a kind of chicken meat. He might be new. I can excuse on that. I ordered the prawns tandoori and Chicken Biryani. I looked good. After eating one piece i realized that it is not spicy as it should be and the color of the prawns is due to the food color but not spices or Chilli. They made tandoori in Oven. Prawns tandoori was good but less spicy. The chicken disappointed me completely. I cannot accept it as Biryani in any aspect. It is neither expensive nor cheap. The prices are moderate. I liked the Ambiance. It was simple , clean and well maintained. The Vegetarian food my friends ordered was just OK. The dessert Gulab Jamun is really good while Halwa is not...

Terrible service. We booked a table in advance for New year’s eve and were given a reservation for 5 pm. We arrived on time and immediately got the feeling that they want to get rid of us asap. The waitress got the drinks order and then came back after 5 minutes for the main course. We said that we want to order starters and she came back after 10 minutes for the main course. We said we would like to finish our starter and order more drinks and will order the food later but she told us we only have the table till 6:40 and then the next guest arrives. The restaurant was empty at the moment and there was only one more table other than us. Then we asked why we were not informed about this when we made the reservation and why so little time is given to each table. The waitress raised her voice and started to behave very badly with us as if we are at fault. They chose quantity over quality for the new year and they wanted to earn as much money as possible in one night. Terrible service and behaviour. We didn’t order the main course and left the restaurant. I don’t recommend this greedy restaurant and its staff to anyone ! Avoid at all costs ! They completely ruined our new year’s...

Food was not really Indian 🇮🇳. The name is Ganesha 🇮🇳 but it was not 100%.

We eat dosa which was good only 1 issues with dosa thickness should be different not completely crispy.

After that my friend order Lamm and I ordered vegetarian. She doesn’t like both curry Lamm Palak and Lamm masala . Same here the vegetarian masala is weird food which I never eat in my life, daal makhani was okay not like indian but okay . Salted lassi was nearly butter milk. I think they have to go punjab where lassi was originally discovered and learned it which was 4€ .

Overall it’s 1 star because of too expensive and not authentic indian 🇮🇳 as real indian 🇮🇳 restaurant used to have. I think people are not from india but from sri lanka 🇱🇰 but selling food in name of India that’s is why it’s not purely Indian cuisine. Sorry but reality.
