Gorkha Restaurant — Restaurant in Hanover

I visited Gorkha restaurant many times with my friends during the last one year. The restaurant is running by a nice family from Nepal. I have mostly good and a few bad experiences. Good: I travelled 40 mins from Hannover amidst snow just to sip the late evening tea (Kadak chae) yesterday (11.03.2023), which was exceptionally nice, compared to what we get outside India. Bad: We had to fight to get a table on a rainy day as the staffs denied to serve as we entered just after 8:30 pm! We were hungry and wet. Pros: 1. Food quantity is sufficient, and the 2. Taste is authentic. 3. Staffs are friendly especially the bright young man speaks Hindi, English, and German quite well. 4. Cool interior with Hollywood posters, Himalayan traditional equipments. Cons: Why not 5 star? Because 1. The restaurant is far away from the city, closes quite early (before 9 pm), and often discourages to come if you call at 8 pm. 2. Food taste/quantity declines if you reach at 8:30 pm. 3. Mixs up between Biryani and Pulao. Pro tips: Reach before 8 pm on weekdays, before 8:30 on weekends, and think twice before ordering Biryani ;-). P.S.: I am yet to try the momo, the most celebrated menu, which was recommended...

Das Gorkha Restaurant ist eine wahre Perle, wenn es um authentisches Essen mit Herz und Verstand geht. Schon beim Betreten wird man von einer herzlichen Atmosphäre empfangen, die einem das Gefühl gibt, sehr willkommen zu sein.

Der Mittagstisch im Gorkha ist ein absolutes Highlight. Die Tomatencreme Suppe war ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis - cremig, aromatisch und perfekt abgeschmeckt. Als Hauptgericht wählte ich das Tikka Masala, und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Gericht war reichhaltig, die Portionen großzügig bemessen und der Geschmack einfach spitzenklasse. Das Essen wurde in landestypischen Schüsseln serviert.

Neben dem köstlichen Essen beeindruckte mich auch das Ambiente des Restaurants. Der Gastbereich ist gemütlich gestaltet, die Tische sind liebevoll eingedeckt und es werden Tisch- und Platzdecken verwendet. Die landestypischen Accessoires verleihen dem Raum eine authentische Note. Zudem war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt, was für ein angenehmes Esserlebnis sorgte.

Was das Gorkha von anderen Restaurants unterscheidet, ist die Hingabe und Mühe, die hier in jedes Detail gesteckt wird. Es ist offensichtlich, dass das Familienteam hinter dem Restaurant großen Wert darauf legt, seinen Gästen ein unvergessliches kulinarisches Erlebnis zu bieten.

Zusammenfassend kann ich das Gorkha Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen. Von der zuvorkommenden Bedienung über die ausgezeichnete Qualität des Essens bis hin zum liebevoll gestalteten Ambiente - hier stimmt einfach alles. Und das Beste ist, dass all dies zu einem äußerst fairen Preis angeboten wird. Ein Besuch im Gorkha lohnt sich definitiv!
