Our host was always friendly and helpful, more so than any other place we stayed at in Germany. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good with a reasonable number of choices. We ate dinner there twice. The salads were better than most of the salads we had been getting in Germany (though still a little bit too much vinegar for me). The stew I had the first night was okay only, but the steak the second night was cooked to perfection! My husband and daughter loved everything they ordered. The homemade plum-rhubarb ice cream was so good I had it for dessert both times. Though the guesthouse may technically be in Harburg, it is actually located in the farm village of Mundling outside of Harburg. We liked the peace and quiet there after spending our days in the more touristy places. Being in the farm village means one is close to barns and on a hot day it smells like it (cow manure). For that reason, we did not sit outside to have a drink or eat, though we did enjoy the roof deck just to sit out for awhile. This is a place that is dog-friendly, as we saw one guest with...

Read moreYou won't regret choosing this place. A young family owns and runs this immaculately clean, hospitable, well equipped bed, breakfast and restaurant place in a quaint town outside of historic Harburg. There is off street parking, private access to modern, clean and well equipped rooms, and fabulously prepared breakfasts and dinners are offered there. It is small enough to be considered a bed and breakfast and friendly enough to feel like you are a member of their family, but there is plenty of privacy. They have a small but fabulously stocked bar with wonderful Bavarian beers. The proprietors speak excellent English and will assist tourists in finding local destinations. We stayed with two teenagers for four nights and used a rental car to drive around Bavaria day to day. We used this home as a base for seeing sights such as the Alps, Munchen (Munich), Nurnberg (Nuremberg) and Newschwanstein Castle. Give these sweet and lovely young, hardworking proprietors a try!!! (hair dryer, flat screen tvs, feather pillows, common kitchen and honor bar, roof top deck,...
