This review might change in the future if I taste the Food from the Menu, as of today being first day they offered Buffet with the following

Welcome Drink

Mango Lassi - 5/5 - with cardamom touch was perfect but the cardamom feel was little too much

Medhu Vada - 4/5 - serving with coconut Chutney would have earned the missing star, as at some point the throat felt dry

Chicken Roll - 5/5 - it was at its best

Basmati Rice - 2/5 - was too Sticky - it is understandable being a family restaurant they would have cooked till now for some 5 people at home, cooking a huge portion may have caused this problem but its fine

Tamko (innovation) - 3 /5 - RESPECT for the innovation 5/5 - but being a South Indian restaurant making an innovation towards Thai style Food don't make sense, I would rather say you guys to innovate some South Indian food so that people will definitely accept it as you are representing south India

Lamm Curry - 4.5 / 5 - well being Srilankan you guys know how to cook Lamm, was at its best

Paruppu - 3 / 5 - Kids will definitely love it

Butter Chicken - 2 / 5 - was too Sour I don't felt Butter and the masalas of Butter chicken - can see you wanted to attract the Germans as most of the Germans know just Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala but the same point "South Indian Restaurant"

Aubergine Curry - 4.5 / 5 at its best

Price range for such small portion of Buffet is little high

It is not to disappoint you guys don't feel low, I prefer always to encourage by saying the good but it will make you satisfied, in order to investigate further in kitchen someone has to say the negatives also and it won't come from the family as they want to support you always.

Ein wundervolles Erlebnis! Genauso, wenn nicht noch besser, möchte ich über unseren Besuch in diesem einzigartigen Restaurant berichten. ♥️🙏🏽✨ Ich muss gestehen, dass ich, als es mir angeboten wurde hinzugehen, sehr neugierig war. Jedoch absolut ohne jegliche Erwartungen hingegangen bin.

Es war so ein wunderschöner Abend, an den ich so gerne zurückdenke! Wir riefen kurz davor an und ergatterten uns einen Tisch für zwei Personen. Dort angekommen, wurden wir mit einem Lächeln und sehr herzlich empfangen. Sogar dies ist heutzutage nicht selbstverständlich und in vielen Lokalen wird man leider eher „abgefertigt“. Aber nicht bei Thamarai! :)

Die Speisekarte ist sehr überschaubar, was für mich persönlich ein gutes Zeichen ist. Es gibt dennoch einiges an Auswahl und auch für Vegetarier/Veganer ist etwas dabei (und auch auf der Karte ausgeschildert, ebenso wie der Schärfegrad der Speisen). Wir bestellten die Getränke und das Essen und begutachteten erstmal alles um uns herum. Wie sagt man so schön? Erstmal ankommen, ne? 😃

Das Lokal ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, die Musik spielt sehr angenehm im Hintergrund, sodass man sich trotzdem angenehm unterhalten kann. Jeder Tisch wird separat beleuchtet, was eine sehr angenehme, nicht aufdringliche Atmosphäre schafft. Aus dem Fenster sieht man direkt zur Straße, jedoch ist es so super isoliert, dass man von innen nicht mal etwas davon hört.

Nach der Bestellung ließen sowohl die Getränke als auch die Speisen nicht lange auf sich warten. Der Service war einzigartig und auf jede einzelne Frage wurde eingegangen. Das Essen (wir hatten die Hähnchen Frühlingsrollen, Lamm und die Auberginen, natürlich mit Knoblauchbrot:)und das Mango Dessert ) war geschmacklich top! Uns fiel unter anderem auch auf, dass das Besteck sehr hochwertig ist. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt!

Was uns noch sehr positiv auffiel ist die Aufmerksamkeit der Servicekräfte. Wir haben Gerichte mit Reisbeilage bestellt und zu unseren Gerichten kam natürlich auch die Schüssel mit dem herrlich duftenden Reis. Als uns der Reis aber ausging und wir noch am Essen waren wurde uns schon direkt neuer Reis gebracht bevor wir überhaupt selbst danach fragten. Dies haben wir als sehr aufmerksam und wertschätzend empfunden.

Ich könnte ewig so weiterschreiben…es war einfach ein wundervolles Erlebnis und ich freue mich schon sehr darauf bald nochmal hinzugehen! Vielen Dank an das ganze Thamarai Team ♥️ ihr habt den Abend unvergesslich...

Absolutely love Thamarai! The food here is fantastic, and the service is exceptional. I tried the Lamm Kothu Roti and Briyani, and both dishes were amazing. The Kothu Roti, in particular, blew my mind—definitely something that makes me curious to explore more of Sri Lankan cuisine. The Briyani was perfectly spiced and flavorful. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to share insights about the dishes, which adds a lot to the dining experience.
