Having driven to the wrong Lahr (!), we finally arrived here - what a friendly welcome. Our 2 1/2 year grandson was immediately offered a guard for his 'big boy bed', a stool to help him reach the sink and various other items. We had dinner on the patio - delicious! The garden is huge and includes a play barn across the little road. This barn is enormous and you have a trampoline downstairs and climb upstairs to the 'hay loft' - another huge area with swings, trampoline, a child's dream! ||There are many toys around - sit on ones for little people like our grandson. There are goats, sheep, rabbits, a barbecue, a covered seating area. ||Breakfast is lovely and again there are toys for children. The boiled egg for our grandson had been especially cooled down - honestly, what more can you want?!||The rooms are well thought out - everything in its place, the same applies to the bathroom. You cannot get a friendlier welcome than...
Read moreAround 6 miles from the Mosel River on the edge of a small village there is a wonderful countryside hotel called Waldesblick. They have chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits, cats and cows along with vegetable and flower gardens. "Wholesome" is the word that comes to mind and guests are free to wander about the property to enjoy a bit of this country life. The Waldesblick is also practical with ample parking and located next to a bike path. The rooms are immaculate and include a bottle of water, tourist brochures in multiple languages and wash cloths (something one does not always find in a German hotel). The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinner in their restaurant was fresh and delicious and the breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. My one night there I had the best night's sleep I've had in a long time...8:25 hours at 97% sleep quality! It is a GREAT...

We had a room at the top of the building, but we had plenty of room, and the shower was big enough for my husband, who is not the weight he was 25 years ago!! Breakfast was a great start to every day. There was anything one could want, and more besides. Whether one is health conscious, or needing a full filling start to the day, everything was there, including home made preserves. If you went short, it would be your own fault. The family are very caring, and do everything they can to make your stay the best it could be. Evening meals can also be provided, and the home made ice cream was superb. Everything was more than one...
