A Sad Decline in Quality at My Favorite Buffet

I’ve been coming to this buffet for years, and it used to be a go-to spot for decent Chinese food at a reasonable price. The variety was great, the flavors were solid, and even though I knew the ingredients weren’t always the freshest, the food was still tasty and satisfying. Lately, though, things have really gone downhill, and it’s hard to ignore the difference.

The main issue seems to be the overall decline in quality. The food just doesn’t taste as good anymore. Even though I didn’t expect top-tier freshness (this is a buffet, after all), the dishes used to have a certain level of flavor and consistency that made them enjoyable. Now, many of the dishes have a flat, uninspired taste, and the seasoning seems to be lacking. For example, the sweet and sour chicken that I used to love now tastes bland and greasy, with a sauce that’s too thin and not nearly as flavorful as before.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the presentation. The food used to look at least somewhat appetizing, even if it wasn’t the most gourmet. But now, everything seems thrown together, with the dishes looking dry or overly soggy—nothing that makes you want to go back for seconds. Even some of the classic buffet staples like fried rice or lo mein, which were once comforting and flavorful, have become underwhelming and lack the punch they used to have.

To be honest, I’ve always known the ingredients here weren’t top-of-the-line, but when the food was cooked well and the flavors balanced, it didn’t really matter. Unfortunately, now that the cooking itself seems off, it’s harder to overlook. It’s such a disappointment because this place used to be reliable for a quick, decent meal, but now I’m not sure if I’ll be returning anytime soon.

It’s still a buffet, so I can’t expect gourmet quality, but there has definitely been a noticeable drop in the standard of what’s being served. I really hope they make some changes to get back to what they were before, but for now, I’ll probably be looking elsewhere for a...

We decided to dine in this wok on 26 june 2022, for management table 54 around 20:30.

First of all, very unfriendly service, more like not interested in the client. Also almost speaking no German could be a handicap, and our chinese is really not good.

In short, the prepared dishes were ridiculously salty and overloaded with MSG (E621). The sushi were a shame. But most importantly, the fish and meat were clearly not fresh. The cook managed to burn the food at the wok, a strong smell of cyanure was repelling. We didn't feel like wasting our time on dessert. Truth is we paid, rushed out and my wife had to vomit her guts out on the parking. Horrible experience. Never again.

Wir entschieden uns, in diesem Wok am 26. Juni 2022, für den Management Tisch 54, gegen 20:30 Uhr zu speisen.

Zunächst einmal sehr unfreundlicher Service, eher kein Interesse am Kunden. Auch fast kein Deutsch zu sprechen könnte ein Handicap sein, und unser Chinesisch ist wirklich nicht gut.

Kurz gesagt, die zubereiteten Gerichte waren lächerlich salzig und schrecklich viel MSG (E621). Die Sushi waren eine Schande. Aber am wichtigsten war, dass der Fisch und das Fleisch eindeutig nicht frisch waren. Dem Koch gelang es, das Essen am Wok anzubrennen, ein starker Cyanure-Geruch war abstoßend. Wir hatten keine Lust, unsere Zeit mit Desserts zu verschwenden. Die Wahrheit ist, wir bezahlten, eilten hinaus und meine Frau musste sich auf dem Parkplatz auskotzen. Schreckliche Erfahrung. Nie wieder.

Nous avons décidé de dîner dans ce wok le 26 juin 2022, pour le management la table 54, vers 20h30.

Tout d'abord, un service très antipathique, plutôt pas intéressé par le client. De plus, ne presque pas parler allemand pourrait être un handicap, et notre chinois n'est vraiment pas bon.

Bref, les plats préparés étaient ridiculement salés et énormément Monoglutamat (MGS, E621). Les sushis étaient une honte. Mais le plus important, le poisson et la viande n'étaient clairement pas frais. Le cuisinier a réussi à brûler la nourriture au wok, une forte odeur de cyanure nous repoussait. Nous n'avions plus envie de perdre notre temps avec le dessert. La vérité est que nous avons payé, nous nous sommes précipités et ma femme a dû vomir ses tripes sur le parking. Expérience horrible. ...

Ich war am Montag gegen 20 Uhr dort. Das Restaurant war nur spärlich besucht. Dafür war die Auswahl sehr gut, teilweise wurde nachgelegt.

Der Service war freundlich, und die Servierroboter sind eine Show.

Die Auswahl ist gigantisch, allerdings hat ein Teil des Buffets weniger mit chinesischer Küche zu tun.

Meine Highlights waren: die gefüllten Ravioli (Dumplings) die Sommerrollen das butterzarte chinesische Bauchfleisch die frische Zubereitung selbst zusammen gestellter Speisen, die dann mit dem Robot an den Tisch kommen die gute Auswahl und Qualität der frischen Fische und des Gemüses

Jetzt zu den Knackpunkten: Ich hatte Steak und Lammkoteletts von der Frisch-Theke: beides ungenießbar, da zäh und unappetitlich grau ohne jegliche Röstaromen die frischen Speisenwerden nicht im Wok, sondern auf der Metallplatte zubereitet, welche offensichtlich nicht heiß genug ist

Und: es gibt keinen Aussenbereich zum Essen, der aber auch nicht zum Roboterkonzept passen würde.

Am Buffet tummelten sich doch etliche Fliegen, und die WCs wurden erst später abends geputzt.

Der Preis für das Abendbuffet ist schon happig, allerdings angesichts der Auswahl an Frischfisch gerechtfertigt.

Service und Ambiente waren angenehm. Es ist halt ein Riesenladen und zu den Stoßzeiten voll und laut. Also typisch Chinesisch. Man muss es wollen.

Fazit: ich würde wiederkommen und mich auf frischen Fisch und Gemüse freuen. Wenn ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin.Extra dorthin zu fahren...
