Gasthof Lamm Restaurant Wintergarten Partyservice — Restaurant in Kernen im Remstal

We completed our first meal of the Remstal Tourismus Schlemmermenu tour. Gasthof Lamm was an adorable find that we would, otherwise, have never discovered.

It was €44 for a wonderful 3-course menu, but they snuck in a pretty substantial 4th course as a gift from the kitchen. Wine pairing for the menu was €14, which was also a good value.

I've been increasingly disappointed to find more and more places serving commercially produced foods, but Gasthof Lamm is still truly making things by hand, and you can taste it. I don't usually eat kartoffelsalat, but I licked the friggin bowl on this one. It was served with a Wild Maultaschen. To me, I picked up some curry notes. I found it to really have such vivid flavor in comparison to most.

The oxcheek main was absolute perfection, served with such a glossy, rich sauce. It really paired well with the fresh root veggies and homemade knödel with crispy, buttery breadcrumb topping. I would have been envious of the vegetarians at our table, for their delicious wild mushroom gnocchi, if it wasn't so tasty.

The dessert was also adored by our whole table. The deconstructed ice cream version of Black Forest cake put a unique spin on a local classic.

Reservations were super easy to make via email. They were so lovely and attentive and kept the wine flowing. The dining room was full of families and locals out to enjoy a Friday evening meal. Absolutely family-friendly, as well.

Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen!! Das Essen war richtig lecker (wir hatten den Viktoria Seebarsch mit Salzkartoffeln und das Schwäbische Pfännle mit Spätzle) und obwohl bei der Reservierung gesagt wurde, das mit Wartezeit zu rechnen ist und es auch wirklich gut besucht war, ging alles sehr Fix. Das Personal ist sehr Aufmerksam und super freundlich. Es trifft genau das richtige Maß zwischen nach dem Gast schauen und zu fragen ob alles in Ordnung ist, einen gleichzeitig aber nicht zu nerven, weil man zu oft an den Tisch kommt. Wirklich toll und angenehm. Die Speisekarte ist gute Schwäbische Küche mit Saisonalen Gerichten. Egal ob Fisch, Fleisch oder Vegetarisch, hier findet jeder was. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen und weitere Gerichte...

Ich bin hier quasi groß geworden und trotz Besitzwechsel hat sich hier nichts zum negativen verändert. Das Essen schmeckt sehr lecker zu einem fairen Preis, das Ambiente ist urig schwäbisch und das Team sehr freundlich. Im Sommer lädt sie Terrasse zum draußen sitzen ein. Einziger kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: zum Dessert gibt es eigentlich nur Eis. Hier könnte man z. B. um Tiramisu o. ä. ergänzen.
