To be honest, this was not our first choice, but I am glad we came. Service was amazing from the moment we booked a table -- very efficient, friendly, and welcoming.

I had the duck, hubby had the venison, we shared a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. We also got a dessert each. Proteins were cooked and seasoned very well: The duck breast was nice and pink, the fat was nicely rendered, and the skin crispy. The venison was so tender you can cut it with a butter knife -- nicely browned on the outside but still pink, tender, and juicy on the inside. Knoedels were nice and suprisingly not too stodgy. The braised cabbage was tart and sweet and complemented the duck well. The wild mushrooms were earthy and worked so well with the venison. Desserts were also tasty -- not too sweet and a nice way to round off dinner. Wine that was recommended by the super nice and sweet server was also spot on.

All in all, we had a very lovely evening for not a ton of money. Very good value (especially when compared to many cities in my home country of Canada). Would gladly return...

Das Weingut ist sehr modern und stilvoll und bildet somit einen interessanten Kontrast zu den anderen Weingütern, die wir besucht haben. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen ausreichend. Die Weinprobe war mal etwas anderes. Wir fanden es gut, dass wir die Weine selbst wählen konnten und diese in unserem eigenen Tempo probieren und vergleichen konnten. Allerdings fehlte uns eine professionelle Beratung und jemand, der sich für uns Zeit nimmt, um Fragen zu beantworten oder einfach etwas zu den Weinen zu erzählen. Wir wurden mit den Weinen ziemlich allein gelassen. Leider durften wir auch nicht den Weinkeller oder die Produktion kennenlernen. Eine Führung, Beratung, Erläuterungen sowie Hintergründe und Geschichte des Weinguts hätten uns schon...

The wine garden is nothing short of fabulous, especially on a balmy summer evening. Only conceivable downside is that they do not have separate areas for smokers and non-smokers...But that is a problem everywhere in Germany. Still five...
