The rooms at the Hotel zum Timpen are atop a bar/cafe/small restaurant. There are only a small number of rooms and I had the feeling I was staying in someone's upstairs bedroom. But, the no-frills room we stayed in was spacious. The bathroom was in a separate room from the sleeping area (though not shared with other guests) and, though the location felt awkward, the tub was huge and updated! I thought the separate shower stall was on the grungy side and needed replacement. The sinks were very small. The hotel/restaurant staff were friendly and we had dinner one night at the restaurant which was very tasty. My only disappointment was that we were sent next door to Hotel Mauer for breakfast and the breakfast there was very sparse with only cold...
Read moreMy father and I have just returned from a two night stay at The Zum Timpen, We could not fault a thing about the hotel or the owners Kartsten and Sabine or their staff. They were very helpful. If you are travelling on a motorbike as we were they offered the use of there garage for our two night stay, this was very welcome. The food is very excellent, and the location of the hotel could not be better. You can travel into both Munster or Osnabruck on local buses. The hotel is also a short trip from the airport. If you are looking at a hotel in this area you would be hard pressed to find a more welcoming place...
