Restaurant Zum Silbersee — Restaurant in Landstuhl

Being in Germany for 3 days from Miami to celebrate my wife's birthday and her first experience outside the US I found this restaurant on the web. It was only a short drive from Ramstein air base but secluded at the same time I found the pictures to be extremely warm and romantic. But to our surprise the reality was far from that . Beware, the greeting went as such upon entering. Outside you eat outside not in here. So we turned and went back outdoors to the covered patio area where just a handful of people occupied tables. The waitress came over and placed a single menu on the table for us I assume to share and walked away. She was our initial greeter by the way. About 8 minutes later she returned to take our orders. Seconds after my wife began to order the waitress suddenly turns and merely walks away. We sat there assuming she'd return but as we watched her greet seat and bring drink orders to others who didn't look like us long after we arrived it was obvious that our presence was not wanted. I'm reserving my opinion on how to label this incident. Was it an anti-American or anti Black act of hate? Some may input the idea of maybe just poor service. I will stand firmly on it being the latter. My suggestion is leave them to what they prefer and regardless of the reason we were treated as we were that restaurant is by no means deserving of ANY...

We ordered stakes that stink so bad,we didn’t eat them and complained about the smell several times. Although we didn’t eat them and told the staff the smell was bad they continued reassuring us that the stakes are fine and took our money. This is extremely unprofessional and for first time ever I see a restaurant showing no interest in the problem. They didn’t even try offering us something different. They charged us the full price and acted as if it was our fault.The boss didn’t even show to our table to talk to us regardless of our complaints. Very unprofessional first and last time going there and I will make sure to share my awful experience with everyone I know. Rude and unprofessional.

I called to see I needed a reservation because of the German holiday. The lady on the phone was very polite. I told her it was a party of 3. My wife, daughter n myself. She said come over we have space for you. First time here, the polite lady greeted us with a big warm smile n seated us The place is very nice and cozy! A few tables were occupied. We ordered the flammkuchen n salad. The salad was a good portion. But I have to say the flammkuchen was the best I have ever tasted In Europe! I’ve live for over 30 years.
