Texas Riverranch — Restaurant in Leer

As a family of five adults ‘needing’ all we could eat ribs, we booked through the online system but found it slow in confirming our request and it gave the wrong impression that the restaurant was busy at our requested time causing us to make alternative standby plans.

On arrival the place was pretty much empty and slower than usual due to new rules requiring Covid certification.

We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Shield screens hung unobtrusively between tables but were hardly noticeable.

Service was quick and efficient (too quick on drinks as menus had yet to be given!) Sophie, please pass on our thanks to those responsible. Ribs we’re served on cold plates (not good) with optional coleslaw, bean salad, Mayo and own, very tasty, BBQ sauce. As a tourist, I would not recommend this place if you're trying to eat some nice food . In fact, the food was so disgusting I didn't even manage to finish my plate. I ordered some chicken tenders, poppers,onion rings, and mozzarella sticks, and none of them were good. The sauces were perfect if you wanted to beat the world record for the fastest diabetes. The atmosphere was quite nice, and the service was good (although when bringing the coasters ,the server threw them on the table). I would say tough that the decorations were a bit ridiculous and that putting a cow boy hat on your servers doesn't make a restaurant Texan.

Fazit Kurzversion: ist ein Besuch auf jeden Fall wert!

Nun etwas ausführlicher.

Schon allein auf dem Weg zum Lokal gibt es viel zu bestaunen. Innen erwartet einem ein ganz tolles Ambiente. Das sehr große Restaurant ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, mit vielen Details. Z. B. Stühle mit Pferdepopo oder Guillotine beim Pissoir. Schaut euch einfach meine Bilder an.

Am Tisch erwartet einem gleich ein Starterpaket bestehend aus Erdnüssen, Zwiebelbrötchen und Kräuterbutter. Tatsächlich sollte man die Erdnussschalen auf den Boden werfen, die Kids fanden es toll, aber ich brachte es nicht übers Herz.

Die Speisekarte bietet sehr viel Auswahl, so dass die Entscheidung wirklich schwer fällt.

Wir hatten uns zunächst für eine Vorspeisenplatte mit allen drum und dran bestellt. Diese war sehr lecker. Wie sich später herausstellte war es vielleicht nicht so sinnvoll, da man dann schon mit den Hauptspeisen kämpfen muss.

Bevor ich zur Hauptspeise komme eine Anmerkung zum Service. Dieser war nämlich zu jedem Zeitpunkt überragend. Das Lokal war sehr voll, dennoch war das Personal immer freundlich und schnell. Den Stress hat man als Gast nicht bemerkt. Hier ist der Kunde noch König. Von diesem Service könnte sich so manches Lokal eine Scheibe abschneiden.

Nun zum Hauptgang:

Wir hatten einerseits ein Steak mit einer Ofenkartoffel. Sowohl die Kartoffel, als auch das Steak war überragend. Das Steak Warnsignal den Punkt Medium, saftig und zart.

Nun zu den Burgern und dem Grund warum ich anstatt 5 nur 4 Sterne vergebe. Die Burger waren grundsätzlich gut, aber leider nicht oder nicht mehr warm. Das Fleisch war vielleicht dadurch etwas zu trocken. Vielleicht ist der Fettgehalt auch etwas zu niedrig..

Würde mir für das nächste Mal wünschen, dass die Burger ebenfalls wie das Steak eine punktlandung schaffen.
