We live in Germany (three years now) and have travelled all over, yet we've never written any reviews. Waldvogel so impressed us however, that we almost couldn't wait to write about it. ||||OK, it's a bit far off the beaten path, but for us (a young family visiting nearby Legoland with a toddler) it was a great location. It is just charming in design and if the rain had only just stopped for a moment we would gladly gone walking in the area. The staff are wonderful and the room (we were in #110) small but spotlessly clean with comfortable beds...and I am 7 months pregnant so something of a "bed comfort expert" these days!||||But the thing that really made the experience amazing for us, was the food. We love all kinds of food and will try anything and have eaten all over the country, but the dinner at Waldvogel was exceptional. Had we had more than one night, we would have gladly worked our way through their menu. The buffet breakfast with fruit, honey, eggs, jams, bread etc all made right there on the farm (and there was a lot more variety to go with that by the way) was really wonderful. ||||The only negative - and this is just a personal thing for me as a light sleeper - was that the curtains only closed far enough to cover half the window, so we were bathed in bright light at 5:00 am. But really, everything else at this hotel was so incredible, it was really a minor annoyance. ||||Thank you Waldvogel -...

Read moreThis hotel is truly a gem. Personnel is very kind, hotel is clean and neat.||Our room was nice, with all the necessary accommodations. It seems to be recently renovated, with the use of a lot of wood. This gave the room a modern and cosy feel.||Wifi is not that great though, and you should ask for a code at the reception. One code per device you want to hook up.||This hotel still is a farm, where they bake their own bread, cultivate their vegetables and prepare their own marmelades,.... ||Outside you can make a nice walk, they have a playground for the kids (this needs some renovation work), you can pet the farm animals, they have a maze and a 'soccer golf' nearby.||We had some diner as well, and that was just great. Price was not too high, and it tasted delicious.||The evening before you're asked what you want for breakfast. There is way too much to choose from, and most of it is homemade. Breakfast was again superb.||If I have to point one more negative point, most of the personnel doesn't speak English at all, or very little, which makes it hard for them to express themselves. This could lead to the fact they are perceived as unkind, but they are certainly not.||Tip: When ordering in the restaurant, ask for both the German and English menu so you can point in the German menu what you want to eat, after having made your choice in the...
