Road Stop Münster — Restaurant in Münster

American themed restaurant at the Northern edge of Münster with nice details, though with weaknesses. Free parking. Mostly friendly and efficient staff, but there are rare exceptions with an attitude and extra retarded reaction, if any. They offer steak, but not the matching wines. Some of the seating is very uncomfy. Cold draught from open entrance with cold weather, the inconsistently lit candles certainly don't help. The burgers are mostly excellent, so are the fries. Salads and salsas vary. Finger food is worse than from your grocery's freezer. Bland bread pieces are neither heated nor spiced up. Don't consider the smoked beef, it's overcooked in a too greasy yet thin gravy without the smokey or saucy taste you expect from smoked beef. Buffet offers are good value, but the buffet display is not quite inviting. Of course you can order à la carte. They seem to limit access to the rear lounge for no obvious reason. Restrooms have no towel dispenser, just non-hygienic...

Das Lokal ist wirklich super vom Ambiente her - tolle Einrichtung und so - sehr Amerikanisch, wobei draußen einige der Tische mal überholt werden sollten - unser war ziemlich ramponiert - so das man Angst hatte das er evtl. zusammen bricht.

Das Essen aber war maximal mittel zu bewerten würde ich sagen. Zu den Details, warum ich das so sehe:

Limoncello Spritz als Aperitif ein Craft Bier aus der Flasche Onion Rings als Vorspeise "Burns Like Hell" Burger mit Doppel Patty + Pommes

Auf 'Limoncello Spritz' bin ich in meinem letzten Urlaub in Holland gekommen, hatte das vorher nie getunken und kannte es schlicht nicht - das was wir in Holland getrunken haben, war spritzig-säuerlich und frisch mit Eis und total lecker, so dass wir davon mehrere tranken - das war mega. Der Limoncello Sprit im Roadhouse dagegen schmeckte einfach nur nach billigem Alkohol - also nicht 'spritzig' sonder richtig 'sprittig' - das war nix.

Das Craft Bier war das Sierra Nevada was in der Karte als 'Dose' angeboten wird - bekommen hab ich eine Flasche. - Kein Beinbruch - ein mega herausragendes Pale Ale war das aber nicht - dafür kann das Roadhouse aber nix.

Die Onion Rings waren dann schon etwas ein Downer - die trieften schlicht vor Frittierfett. Empfehlung an die Küche - bitte lasst die doch vorher einmal gut abtropfen. So wie ich die bekommen hatte waren die untersten wirklich mit Fett vollgesogen - und es war trotzdem noch ein See von Fett in der Schale. Geschmacklich waren die grundsätzlich OK, also bis auf die von ganz unten.

Dann zu dem 'Burns like Hell' Burger - wenn ich in der Karte lese, dass es so brennen soll, wie die Hölle, dann nehme ich das als "Warnung" und erwarte etwas wirklich besonders scharfes. Der Burger ist aber meiner Meinung nach weder scharf noch besonders. Die Sauce schmeckt nach 'Pfeffer' - also so als ob man schlicht Ketchup mit Pfeffer anreichert. Die Pommes waren in Ordnung - und eine Portion reicht auch prima für zwei Personen.

Wir waren zu sechst in dem Lokal und keiner von uns Sechen war wirklich begeistert von dem was wir auf den Teller hatten.

Unfortunately i will not be coming here anymore with my family. I was generally super happy about this resturant because the burgers are tasty and they have knowledge of what Gluten free means. Due to recent changes in the kitchen they now fry everything in one frier thus making the french fries with gluten. In the past we have been allowed after asking, to bring gluten french fries from outside so that my son (8 years old) could enjoy eating with the family. Today we have been told this is not possible anymore thus my son can have only burgers or oven potatoes. It is sad to see that the service goes back instead of...
