Alpe Dornach — Restaurant in Oberstdorf

It's was a short drive to the restaurant from our trek at Breitachklamm. It's the only place around that accepts credit card. We were promptly ushered to our seat once we're arrived for lunch at around 1.30pm. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but because the view is magnificent, the good outdoor seatings are all occupied. They have a small playground and there are lots of family with small children. While we were there, a small wedding reception was being held. There is an English menu if you're struggling to translate the German menu. After ordering, it took awhile about 15mins before the food is served all together. The portion is quite big even though we were hungry from the hike, it is still a struggle to finish. They left nothing to chance for the decoration and it was enjoyable just being there. The atmosphere is so cheery with everyone enjoying the good food and the beautiful scenery. They waiter & waitress are so attentive and ask if everything is alright from time to time. Das Restaurant: Heute Abend waren wir in der Alpe Dornach essen.

Das Ambiente ist rustikal, trotzdem edel und gemütlich, mit ausreichend Platz zwischen den Tischen.

Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich , immer aufmerksam , so dass ich mir nie den Arm "ausrenken" musste.

Nun aber zum Wesentlichen : Die Küche ist der absolute Hammer!!

Ich hatte die Entenbrust mit weißer Portwein-Orangenblüten-Glace, Ofenrosenkohltexturen, Kartoffelknödel und Kardamom-Koriander-Schmelze und konnte mir nicht wirklich etwas darunter vorstellen. Was dann aber vor mir stand , war eine Geschmacksexplosion sondergleichen. Ich war total geplättet , einfach nur wunderbar. Wunderbar zartes Entenfleisch , mit der Süsse der Glace , dem leicht bitteren Rosenkohl, crunchy und dazu die Kartoffelknödel zum "Erden".

Meine Frau hatte den Alp Burger bestellt ; das Rindfleisch perfekt auf den Punkt gebraten , angemacht mit drei verschiedenen Saucen . Auch sie war total begeistert und sehr zufrieden mit ihrer Auswahl.

Den Abschluss bildete dann für uns "die Bi(e)rne ". Hier sei nur so viel gesagt : Selber ausprobieren , manchmal sind Worte nicht genug.

Das Restaurant ist eine absolut klare Weiterempfehlung , für jeden der das Außergewöhnliche und "etwas andere" sucht.

Das Hotel : Wir hatten uns für unseren Urlaub auf der Spa Suite Nebelhorn eingebucht. Die Suite ist ein Traum der keine Wünsche offen lässt ; Sauna mit Panoramablick auf die Bergwelt , großem Balkon, Whirlpoolwanne , Fußbodenheizung, hohen Decken und zwei Schlafzimmern . Die Betten / Matratzen sind weder zu weich , noch zu hart, auf Wunsch sind verschiedene Kopfkissen zu haben .

Ein Urlaub zum Entspannen und Wohlfühlen , besonders da uns "on top" ein magisches Winterwonderland beschert wurde.

Das gesamte Personal der Alpe Dornach ist äußerst freundlich , zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und, wo möglich, wird jeder Wunsch erfüllt.

Great fresh milk products, superbly great Schmalz, nice staff! Thank you!! --- The restaurant is accessible perfectly well by walking, by bicycle, by e-bike, but moped, motorbike or car. There is a large parking spot. The view for outside seating (as we were there in summer) is panoramic and stunning. The food I ordered contained fresh buttermilk and Schmalz bread and I was more than happy about the amount and the great quality with tasty bread as well. We very thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there and recommend a trip there to anyone. There were people with wheelchairs there so the accessibility for that could...
