Well designed establishment. The interior is reminiscent of an old tavern. The restaurant offers a wonderful view of the forest. We ordered steaks and drinks. We waited a long time and it wasn't worth it. The meat was dry, like the sole of a shoe. It was very difficult to cut it with a knife. Mushrooms, salads were delicious. But a lot of potatoes, my potato is super, but the rest was a little burnt. We were very disappointed with the steaks, I do not recommend. Two stars for interior and exterior. We went to the edge of the forest in Ohrdruf with grandfather and felt very well looked after in this very well furnished forest restaurant. The service was very courteous and the menu was very rich in Thuringian specialities. Portions were very large and very reasonably priced. Grandpa couldn't finish his salad, the toilets were also very clean. After a short hike you will be happy to come back here. You can also collect your food here....

Naja, geht so. Waren an einem Donnerstag Mittag hier zum Essen im Biergarten. Wir bekamen sofort einen freien Platz, da es relativ leer war. Es dauerte eine gefühlte Ewigkeit, bis die Servicekraft kam. Die Gangart würde ich eher als "schlendern" bezeichnen. Absolut keine Motivation... dies sagte sie auch noch, dass sie erst begonnen hat und deshalb nicht wirklich Lust hatte. Dies wurde uns eindrucksvoll gezeigt. Unser Essen war in Ordnung und lecker, gute Qualität. Was mich aber schockiert hat, waren die Preise. Alle Gerichte um die 17-20 EUR, einzelne Gerichte auch noch teurer. Was ich noch schlimmer fand, war der Bierpreis... 5,50 EUR! Und da reden wir von der Veltins-Brauerei. Wäre es ein heimisches Bier aus der Region gewesen, hätte ich diesen Preis gerne gezahlt, aber nicht für ein Industrie-Bier welches in Massen hergestellt wird. Die Dose Veltins gibt es im Supermarkt für 1 EUR. Das Ambiente im Biergarte ist schön, da kann man nicht meckern. Lediglich die Toiletten im Innenraum könnten mal renoviert werden, diese sind stark in die Jahre gekommen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Fazit: Wir würden nicht mehr kommen, die die...
