I had the pleasure of dining at Rice N Spice in Recklinghausen and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I stepped in, the cozy yet elegant atmosphere, combined with the warm hospitality.

The menu featured a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, and I was spoiled for choice. I started with mixed fritters, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with a flavorful, spiced filling. The accompanying mint chutney added a refreshing kick.

For the main course, I opted for butter chicken and sizzled paneer tikka ,Lamb Tikka masala paired with fragrant basmati rice and fresh garlic naan. Every bite was an explosion of rich, well-balanced spices that transported me straight to India. The lamb biryani was another highlight—aromatic, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection.

The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and eager to recommend dishes based on my preferences. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff ensured that every guest was well taken care of.

To round off the meal, I indulged in mango lassi and mango halua , both of which were a delightful way to end a perfect evening.In addition they offers attractive buffet every evening.

We had all you can eat for 2 people dine in. First they served us extreme salty food. We couldn’t even consume and had to give it back. After that they served us frozen food, we had to return this back too. The garlic nan was hard and burned and fatty and dry, but dripped oil. After that they served us food which had gasoline taste, as we ate it, we couldn’t understand what the taste was, its tasted like melted plastic in the food. It tasted as if the chef used burning execrators instead of oil. It tasted like burning paste. Horrific! This was one of my worst food experiences ever. I had to throw up at home. And they made us even pay for it after all what happened. If I could give -5, I would. You had guts to charge me for that, really?! Your food tastes like gasoline. And you are not scared to poison people. Your chef is the most talentless, I can cook better Indian food as him. I saw him laughing too in the kitchen. Horrific. There was one dish with chickpeas which had pieces of something in the gravy, it was old and spoiled. They refrozen it or used bad products. There was nothing good about anything you serve. Something is wrong in your kitchen. No one should eat here. Again: I threw up after dining here, the food...

Samstag 15.2.25 /13.00 2terVersuch Leider mussten wir feststellen, dass das Restaurant für uns sich leider nicht zum Positiven weiterentwickelt hat, 😒 vielleicht liegt es daran, dass wir 2x zur Mittagszeit zum Essen dort waren 🤷🏼‍♂️ Das positive, wir hatten 3x Chicken Gerichte und alle Gerichte konnte man essen, ..so naja.. Wenn!!!, der junge Mann am Tisch war , war er sehr freundlich 👏🏻 Das Negative Man sitzt dort länger, es wird nicht mehr nach Getränken gefragt, ..oder ob man noch etwas anderes möchte. Es macht alles einen etwas unprofessionellen Eindruck. Auch ist das Restaurant sehr dunkel von innen gehalten und es hat auf uns nicht so einladend gewirkt. Auch wenn man schon über 60 ist und nicht mehr ganz so viel essen kann, war die Menge an Hähnchen Fleisch doch sehr übersichtlich 😒, dafür gab es Reis für 6 Personen, nur reichte dafür die Soße auch nicht. Preis Leistung passt hier gar nicht, geschmacklich geht es so. Eigentlich schade, nachdem wir einige positive Bewertungen gelesen hatten. Da es in Erkenschwick auch das indische Restaurant Haus Vasdev gibt, kann man sehr gut vergleichen, was wirklich Gut und hier allenfalls ein noch ausreichend ist. Fazit für uns, wir gehen nicht mehr dort hin und von uns auch keine Weiterempfehlung.

2023,Wir waren das erste mal da. Als Vorspeise gab es einen kleinen gemischten Salat, der war gut. Meine Frau hatte ein Hähnchen Curry, das war geschmacklich "noch" gut, es ist aber trotzdem noch Luft nach oben. Ich hatte ein Rindfleisch Curry! Die erste Fleischportion konnte ich gar nicht beißen..der junge Mann,der uns bediente, brachte sofort eine neues Gericht nachdem wir ihm Bescheid gegeben hatten, jedoch stellte sich beim nächsten Gericht das gleiche Problem dar. Es machte den Eindruck,als wenn das Fleisch für dieses Gericht nicht das richtige oder nicht die beste Qualität war. Der junge Mann entschuldige sich mehrfach dafür und wollte mir noch eine 3te Portion mit Rindfleisch bringen,was ich jedoch nicht mehr wollte und schlug ihm vor, das gleiche Gericht mit Hähnchen zu nehmen, was dann auch okay war. Dadurch war meine Frau natürlich fertig mit dem Essen und ich hatte noch gar nicht angefangen. Das ganze hat die Lust aufs Essen gehen sehr genommen. Ich glaube, es ist in der Küche kein gelernter Koch zugegen. Das Fleisch kann man vorher beurteilen,ob es zum Kurzbraten passt oder ob es zum schmoren geeignet ist. Ich vermute das es Gulasch Fleisch war, die Optik der Stücke ließ darauf schließen. Wenn es Filet gewesen wäre, wäre es aber auch totgebraten 🤷🏻‍♂️... deshalb meine Vermutung von keinem gelernten Koch..der das bestimmt gesehen hätte. Was auf jeden Fall sehr gut war, daß man freundlich mit meiner Kritik umgegangen ist und uns sogar ermutigte es in der Bewertung wiederzugeben.👏👏 In einem renomierten Restaurant hätte man vielleicht als Entschuldigung, einen Kaffee aufs Haus bekommen o.ä., da der Essensablauf doch sehr gestört war 🤷🏻‍♂️,das war hier leider nicht der Fall. Daher meine Vermutung, daß hier keine Profis am Werk sind. Die Inneneinrichtung von dem Lokal macht auch einen schöneren, neueren Eindruck,als in den anderen Bewertungen beschrieben . Unser Fazit, es ist noch sehr viel Luft nach oben in der Qualität und der Durchführung der Gerichte, aber vielleicht braucht das Lokal/ Koch noch etwas mehr Zeit, um sich besser zu entwickeln. Wir werden etwas Zeit vergehen lassen, die Bewertungen lesen,wie es weiter gegangen ist und vielleicht dann einen neuen Versuch...
