Klosterbräustüberl Reutberg GmbH — Restaurant in Reichersbeuern (VGem)

We visited here Sunday 26th July 2021 having cycled from Holzkirchen Bahnhof. However I think that there are closer alternatives such as taking the BOB train to Schaftlach and then a walk of about 1 hour, but if by chance you have a bike and find yourself near Holzkirchen Bahnhof then it is only 11-12km or 35-40 minutes and almost all of this is cycle-friendly, so either on a cycle path or super quiet small country roads with little or no traffic. There are however a couple of small hills to tackle, one on the way back in particular which is about 3km away from the Kloster is what I would term as a 'short, sharp, shock as it is quite steep really quickly, however it is short and so a nice little workout.

The Kloster is I guess slightly elevated as looking south you have really good views of the mountains, even today on a very cloudy and occasional showers type of day it was a decent panorama. It was busy, we had to wait 8-10 minutes before a seat became available. The deck area is dwarfed by a huge tree (chestnut I think?) and around the outside are very sturdy industrial type parasols to provide heat and rain protection.

Beer choice is good, they have most of their regular beers available on tap or in a bottle, they have a daily update menu and I could see that the Aegidius-Trunk was available which was great as I can see that this seems to be a hard beer to track down, it is usually available from August but obviously a little earlier this year. The Export Dunkel was very nice and slightly edged it over the Aegidius-Trunk, but both were very nice.

Regarding the place, mmhh... I don't know, staff very friendly, set up very professional, adherence to COVID rules and regulations was excellent. However it pains me to say this but most of these type of places that are monastery setup type venues i.e. Weltenburger, Westvleteren, Andechs and here, plus others that I have forgotten, just seem to miss a little something, maybe a personal touch, I am not sure. I guess that places like this can become a victim of there own popularity, stunning views, great beers, what looked like great food, but that little spark seems to be missing. That said I didn't feel rushed and I don't want to be sound negative, because as mentioned the staff were great and I liked it here. Maybe I am being a bit harsh but that is how I feel, but perhaps on a really sunny day with a seat at the edge with those views and earlier in the day when less busy, maybe I would think...

Das Drumherum: Der Biergarten des Klosterbräustüberls ist schon alleine des herrlichen Alpenblicks wegen ein Glanzstück, und die Umgebung lädt zum Wandern ein. Dazu kommt noch interessante bayerische Küche, köstliches Bier von der Klosterbrauerei und professionelle freundliche Bedienung.

Der Service: Da man hier auch größere Besucheranstürme gewöhnt ist, läuft der Service stets sehr nett, aufmerksam und schnell. Längere Wartezeiten sind eher die Ausnahme. Offensichtlich ein perfekt eingespieltes Team!

Das Essen: Bei meinem heutigen Besuch am Pfingstsonntag fiel die Wahl aus der sympathisch übersichtlichen Speisekarte auf ein Bierkutscher Schnitzel aus der Schweinelende, gefüllt mit Landschinken, Senf, Meerrettich und Braukäse, in einer Brezenpanade. Solche Komposition finde ich sehr appetitlich, und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Schnitzel war angenehm würzig, innen schön saftig und außen wunderbar knusprig. Das Fleisch zart und dünn geklopft, wie es sich für ein gutes Schnitzel gehört. Eine gelungene Mischung aus Münchener Schnitzel und dem altehrwürdigen Cordon bleu. Das zweite Gericht am Tisch war ein ofenfrischer Krustenschweinebraten. Dieser klassische Braten gehörte für mich nicht unbedingt zu den besten im ganzen Oberland, war aber guter Durchschnitt und hatte eine resche Kruste. Der Kartoffelknödel hat die klassische Zerreißprobe leider nicht bestanden, dafür war er zu fest. Vielleicht beim nächsten Mal.

Aktuell ist noch wichtig zu erwähnen, dass auch das Hygienekonzept in der Pandemie professionell und unkompliziert umgesetzt wird, so dass einem angenehmen Aufenthalt, egal ob allein, zu zweit oder in größerer Gruppe im Biergarten, nichts im Wege steht.

Fazit: Ich kann das Bierkutscher Schnitzel, das frisch gezapfte Helle von der Reutberger Klosterbrauerei und das Klosterbräustüberl insgesamt jederzeit empfehlen.

Have been here today after swimming and relaxing at the Kirchsee. What a great food and view to the alps! We arrived about 17:30 and some people had to wait in front of the Beergarden / Terrace. We too. After 20 minutes or so Leni brought us to our place. Clean and disinfected. So we ordered some juices and a fresh beer for the mum of #Littlefeet and #Bigfoot. Both of them ordered Schnitzel with Pommes and Ketchup. I had a Mozzarella salad and mum got Kässpaetzle. So what shall I say: great fresh food! My salad was mad like at home cause fresh and tasty. The Schnitzels tasted fresh and delicious like the Spätzle. For a Beergarden really great food! Everything from getting a table until paying the bill and the meal inbetween was great and convinced us to recommend this...
