My husband and I stayed here on the recommendation of friends and we needed a cheap place to stay that included some breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights.||Check in was straight forward and we were expected. Our host greeted us pleasantly and was very helpful in showing us the room and asking if we needed any further help. ||||ROOM/S:---||The room given to us was very large and spacious with a lovely view of the small river that wends its way through Waldbreitbach. The windows open wide and allow the fresh 'mountain' air to permeate the room.||Weirdly, our room, for some reason had two small bathrooms both with a toilet and shower each! I don't know if this is the norm for the hotel. The bathrooms were a bit small, but they were fine for our stay. The room was clean and serviceable. Unfortunately, one of the sheets had a faint yellow stain on the corner. Tut tut tut! Perhaps they need to buy more linens! An extra blanket in the room would also have been appreciated as one night was particularly cool.||The bathrooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels brought up.||We required an ironing board which was brought up to our room quickly and without complaint.||||FOOD:---||Breakfast was very simple but tasty. Consisted of bread cheeses, assorted German meats and what have you. There was coffee, tea, juice and we even had late lunch/early dinner there one night and our Argentinian steaks were delicious! Prices were very reasonable. The restaurant downstairs was eerily quiet almost every day except the Sunday lunch time when it was almost full! It seemed like a hundred people came out of no where.||||STAFF:---||Our host seemed to function as reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and house keeping. A very nice lady, sorry I forgot your name!||||Negatives: ---||- Even though the sheet smelled clean, there was faint yellow stain on one bed sheet. Don't know what it was, but it didn't kill us!||- The restaurant is tired looking and requires a lick of paint and maybe some fresh flowers on the tables or something to liven the place up.||- The credit card machine did not work on check out!!! This was quite a hassle for us as we had to go into town to the nearest bank (it's only 5 minute walk away) but to draw cash on a credit card we are charged a cash fee. :o(||||Overall, this was a pretty basic hotel, the food was good and the service very friendly and on the ball. We would consider to stay again in the future.||||Waldbreitbach is a beautiful little German hamlet! The people are lovely and the scenery is beautiful!||||I would recommend this to a people on a budget.||(We paid approx EUR 70.00 per room per night including...

Read moreWe ate out here at Nassens Muhle with a party of 26 people. We were expected and our tables were reserved in a rear room with views over the small river which runs past the restaurant. The soup was very nice and every one seemed to enjoy it.||Main meals were served next and again the service was good and friendly, the food was satisfying. A vanilla pudding came next and was also tasty. You have probably guessed by now, we had a set meal ordered for our large party and so often these meals are often a flop. This was not the case here and everyone said that the meal was a success. Listening to the comments as we rejoined our coach I think that most people had enjoyed...
