Gasthof Old carpentry — Restaurant in Rothenburg ob der Tauber (VGem)

My husband and I visited during a road trip of The Romantic Road and stopped for two days. It is situated on The Romantic Road and has stunning views. It took about ten minutes to reach the stunning town of Rothenberg (highlight of the road for us). The guest house is very authentic, clean and friendly. Staff wearing traditional dress in the evening restaurant made it even more so. The service was excellent and there was an English speaking member of staff who took us under her wing. They also provide an English version of the menu. The restaurant served excellent food. Breakfast was small and a little limited to yoghurt, cheese and cold meat but...

We decided to visit the Nuremberg and Rothenburg on der Tauber Christmas Markets. The guesthouse rooms were great. Full bath with showers. Great hot water, clean, fresh towels and linens. The beds were so comfortable. The front desk is located in the adjoining restaurant. The free breakfast was the traditional German foods and plenty of it. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very refreshing after spending time in Italy. This place was perfect for our group. Out of the way but close enough to both places we wanted to see. An hour drive to Nuremberg but 10 min into Rothenburg. We preferred Rothenburg over the crowds...
