Panoramarestaurant Wallberg — Restaurant in Rottach-Egern

We spent about 4 hours in the Wallberg mountain. At first, we take a ride with the Wallbergbahn (a retour ticket just 20€/adult). The ride takes about 15 minutes and the view is stunning. If you are there, you should give it a try + the view is also amazing from the top. After that we were hungry and want to take a meal at the panorama-restaurant. You could order meal from 11:30 to 13:50. The waitresses are a little bit rude. Because we are not perfect in German (but we can read a menu,not as good to order ) they gave us an english menu, but they hardly want to do that. To our surprise, the english menu was different from the german. It contains less meals, and it is just a printed A4 paper.

After we ordered they brought the meals separeletely. It would not be a huge problem, but we only were there 3 together, so i do not think it would be a big problem to bring the dishes together. They could hardly speak english ( or just they do not want do, i do not know) but when we started to talk english they answered in german. 😀 The meal was delicious, the prices are accaptable (a dish from 11€ to 20€, a soda is 5.5€).

After all, i recommend the restaurant for you, just because of the meals are delicious and the view from the table is...

We hiked up the mountain which took us three hours so by the time we got to this place we were tired and hungry. The inside of the restaurant was nicely warm which helped us recover quickly. :) The staff who served us was not so overly friendly, just busy as he had to serve many people at the time. The mistake I did was to order non-German dishes at a German restaurant. I advise anyone to never do that 😂 because the taste is guaranteed to be bad. It was my mistake to order risotto and it had absolutely no taste whatsoever, and there was no cohesion in the taste. The vegetables and the soup and the rice all tasted so separate it did not feel like it was one dish. I should’ve gone for Käsespätzle which looked really nice there. Es ist ein Touristen Hotspot, ohne Frage. Da der (sehr teure) Lift jeden Touri in Römerlatschen auf diesen wunderschönen Berg mit unfaßbar tollen Ausblick, zur einen Seite ins Tegernseer Tal und zur anderen Seite über ein atemberaubendes Alpenpanorama, gondelt. Daraus resultiert eben auch, dass das Restaurant vollkommen überladen und rappelvoll ist...die herrliche Sonnenterrasse zumindest. Die Leute, die den Berg hinauflaufen, haben dann oft das Nachsehen. Gut, dafür kann der Betreiber nichts. Und das der ein oder andere Tourist stets und ständig im Weg steht, sicherlich auch nicht. Die Preise sind schon mehr als happig ( eine Scheibe Leberkäs mit Kartoffelsalat 13€...ernsthaft???) und darüber hinaus ein Service, der eher gehetzt und genervt wirkt, als herzlich und willkommen heißend, dass sollte sich der Betreiber dann schon eher auf die Fahne schreiben. Der Kaiserschmarrn aber ist gigantisch und schmeckt wirklich hervorragend. Aber was wirklich gar nicht ging, war das Bier. Der Wallberg, da Hausberg vom Tegernsee! Und nach einem langen Bergmarsch bekommst an Hacker Pschorr statt an Tegerneer Helles. Unser Fazit? Als Touri, macht es eh jeder. Ansonsten, rauf auf den Berg (zu Fuß...man lernt tolle Menschen kennen), nehmts euch a gscheide Brotzeit mit und genießt den herrlichen Panoramablick. Danach geht's runter und dann kehrt man halt da ein. Ich hab auch die Logik nicht verstanden, warum man für einen Hund 2,50€ für den Lift extra zahlen muß. Wen man bedenkt, dass man schon 40€ für eine Talfahrt berappt hat. Kein Problem, zahle ich ja, aber warum muß die Dame nach mir mit ihrem Pinscher für ihren Vierbeiner nicht zahlen? Gut, auch nicht die Sache des Wirtes. Aber im Allgemeinen weniger Massentourismus und mehr Augenmerk aufs Wesentliche, dann kann man da einen Ausflug sicherlich...
