We chose this hotel not because of the city, but because we were tired and we would like to have a good night of sleep and the hotel looked nice and comfortable. |The first disappointment we had was that the room with balcony we had booked thru Booking.com was given to other couple and the owner of the hotel didn’t honor our booking. The owner offered us another room that was apparently bigger but not better. Not better because was terrible warm and we had to let the windows opened to have some air, but no fresh air at all. We had to sleep with the windows opened and at 11pm started a horrible noise from the ventilator of the cooling unit just in front of our windows. This noise was from hour to hour working half hour. Who can sleep with a noise of that? |In the morning I complained with the owner and the answer was that she didn’t know anything about it. |For whom chose a hotel to have a good night’s sleep was a real nightmare. |The breakfast was also poor for a hotel that has a Michelin star. We are glad that the restaurant was closed otherwise we likely would have had diner there and for sure would be another disappointment. |For sure...

We did have a few issues: we had to fix the pop-up plug in the basin because the mechanism underneath was fouled by the waste pipe and had obviously never worked since it was installed; one of the aforementioned table lamps had a mind of its own; and the supply of hot water ran out on our last evening. Nevertheless, this would be a good place to spend a few days as a base for wine-tasting or walking in the Saar Valley. The restaurant is expensive and "fancy", but there are a couple of more reasonably priced alternatives serving simpler fare in...
