"Highway to Hell" We stayed in that lovely spot of the world for 2 nights last w/e (15 and 16 August) as we had a wedding to addend nearby. Our family booked 5 rooms out of the 15. Which means that the hotel was booked 30% by us. 3 rooms were demin underground with an uninspiring view of the car park. Each room had two windows but only one with flyscreens. The first night we all had a good night sleep in spite of being beaten alive by mosquitos. Not much sense to have a flyscreen when you have half a dozen of mosquitos flying around in your room. Second day we came to the hotel for a rest for a couple of hours after the wedding function. Around 5.30 pm we wanted to catch up in the outside area and have a quick drink before going to the dinner party but the whole area was taking over by overly loud people queuing trying to get in for a wedding function on the first floor of the building. Most of us came back to hotel around 12.30 am.. The music and the singing at the function was so loud that it made it impossible to sleep. Eventually just before 4.00 am the music finally stopped and we all crashed to sleep. In the morning, because of all the inconvenience we tried to have a later check out than 10.00 am. That was simply impossible and the person in charge refused to talk to us with a lame excuse to be too busy. At 10.00 am we finally been rudely kicked out from the breakfast ares. Also forgot to mention that the first night there was a rat running around the rooms. The day after the poor thing was sedated by poison so we managed to take it to the outside area. Basically it is not acceptable to run a hotel and a disco in the same area. Have same respect for...
Read moreWe stayed with our relatives here because of a wedding nearby. We arrived, ordered a beer (in German...) and the waiter got all big instead of small. When notified, she said "Es ist egal". And of course we paid for big ones. In the rooms there are 2 windows, only one provided with the anti mosquito net. You need them, because it was hot and no AC, which is completely fine if you can open the window! Breakfast was OK! Second day we rescued a mouse hiding close to our door and brought it outside. Second day there was a wedding in the location. We went to our wedding and came back at different times. I was in the last group, coming back at 3.30AM. Music was still very loud, of course we couldn't sleep with the only net-provided-window open. If you are looking for a relaxing stop while travelling by car or by bicycle in this beautiful area of Germany, you rather go...
Read moreStop over location en route to northern Germany. Good parking and smart accommodation. The room was clean, well equipped and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. However, and most annoyingly, the shower did not work and offered up a mixture of no hot water or very little hot water. There was no hot water flow to the bathroom sink also. This totally undermined what should have been a comfortable stay. The staff member declined to offer an alternative room despite ample...
