While exploring and talking to one of the locals they suggested we go and see Lake Konigssee so we entered lake into Google Maps and found what we hoped was the lake she was referring to. Upon entering it was immediately beautiful. While visiting one the many shops it was suggested we should take the boat ride and visit St. Bartholomew. We bought our tickets a little in advance. The boat was full but one leaves every 30 minutes.
Lake Königssee, part of the Berchtesgaden National Park, is in the southeast corner of Germany at the foot of the Berchtesgaden Alps. It is the Bayern district, which is also known as Bavaria (Bayern being the German word for Bavaria). At one point the boat stopped and played a trumpet in which it echoed through the canyons.
When we arrived we decided to try the only restaurant on St. Bartholomew. We were seated rather quickly and our lunch was also served promptly. Pretty sure all orders were being taken by one person. It might be different in the high season but that’s the beauty of visiting in March.
I had the fresh Charred Trout. Not 💯 sure but there are three options for the trout. Charred, fried and baked??? Regardless do get the Charred. Whatever the small differences they change the flavor. The trout was from the lake and maybe after serving it literally for years and years it was the most delicious trout I have ever had.
The restaurant wasn’t fancy but fit with the surroundings. Was a lucky by chance highlight...
Read moreDO NOT VISIT, RACIST INSIDE THIS PLACE. The waiter was a complete racist, we have never been treated so rudely anywhere else in the world. When we said we need a bit of time for the menu since he literally just passed it on to us, he said "10 minutes " and left. Then a few minutes later he came back to serve the other table next to us, without coming to check with us at all. We told another waiter about this, and he was kind enough to come and cover our table for him. After 10 minutes he came back with an angry red face, we said its okay our order is taken already, and without saying a word he left. We said how can you be so rude, he just replied with: you're having a vacation, rush for what. And then he left again. The whole time he was smiling and polite with the other tables of Germans, which forces us to make a conclusion that he is acting this way towards Asians. His colleague has been very nice and apologized on his behalf, but his behavior is completely unacceptable at a such well known international tourist spot. We didn't see his manager and decided not to let it ruin our day since it was our first stop at Konigssee, but if you can PLEASE AVOID IT. ウェイターは人種差別主義者です。ここで食べないでください。웨이터는 인종 차별 주의자입니다. 제발 여기 먹지...

Con: The restaurant staff was unfortunately absolutely unfriendly and impolite. Even though the sizes of the dishes are to some extent quite large but then again the food quality is below average. I personally would have preferred quality over quantity. The dishes were all quite dry and tasteless. Fish was dry and came with a slice of dry bred and block of butter. The fries were loads but astonishingly also very dry. The lentils of the Chili sin carne were not boiled long enough and very hard. And the pasta suffered from the same issues. To sum it up - the menu is in urgent need of an overhaul and modernisation. Even the drinks we ordered were only an OK quality - all our mix drinks were watered down and tasted more like water with some flavours. The beers again were standard, you like it or you don’t. Quite striking is also that the same fish with bread only costs 13.50€ in the fish restaurant next door.
It’s definitely a tourist trap (but with a...
