Restaurant Teichhotel — Restaurant in Schmalkalden

This hotel is near the town centre of Schmalkalden. It is clean and very bright. It is on a side road and has free parking for guests and is pretty quiet. There is no elevator here so you will have manage your luggage up the stairs, there are also stairs to get in the building so it is not good for handicapped people or those who struggle with a lot of stairs as you will have to go up at least two flights to get to your room, but I think that is probably one of the reasons that it is only 3 stars. ||||The décor is nice and the room is quite large for a 3 star place, though the bathroom is the size that you would expect in such a hotel, be aware that there is only shower gel and soap in the bathroom so you will need to bring your own shampoo. The free internet connection is rather good, though slow at times if a lot of people are using it. We didn't have breakfast here because it wasn't included in our room rate and we wanted to get something in town, but it looked good for the price. This is the second time I have stayed here. Both trips were on business. This is an efficient hotel, bring your own shampoo. Not much in terms of amenities but it is clean. The staff is good but offer limited English if you need it. During the second stay there was a lot of construction noise coming from the kitchen area beneath our room late into the night.
