Read moreNot sure if our experience is post-COVID related (lack of staff?) or if it just a culture issue. We live in France and coming to a restaurant for a dinner before 20h00 is not something we do :) This time, picked El Paso as #1 Resto in Schwabach and we arrived at 19h30 (on our roadtrip) - on Wednesday evening, not evening during the weekend. The restaurant had a full terrace, one main room full, the 2nd room empty. We got a table in the empty room. Kids very terribly hungry after the long trip from Paris. We order the drinks and food at 19h40 and then...we wait, we wait, we wait...food arrives at 21h10! Waiters must know about long wait times and they could have warned us that our "ticket" will be at the end of the queue and we risk to wait over 1h. Kids were getting crazy, they could have come and serve at least the kids (seriously fries & breast chicken does not take ages to do, does it?) and we could have waited for our food as adults. The problem of #1 rating is high expectations in both food, service and experience. The food we took (adults) was OK, average, but nothing spectacular worth #1 ranking (or we better don't want to see the rest of offerings in Schwabach). Maybe the 1h30 waiting time had an impact on how much we enjoyed (or not) the food. This place could have a potential, but I suppose you better show up when they open by 6pm and not by 7h30pm. I have worked myself in a restaurant kitchen for quite some time and I know what it is to run a busy place, but please show some considerations at least to families with kids - the adults who come to drink a beer and talk maybe don't mind the loooooong wait. Inform your guests about the wait time, if you have kids at the table, bring them some small snacks to eat during the wait, etc.... PS Or just hire some more stuff to kitchen, with your popularity you should be able to pay for an extra help and accelarate the...
Were there last Monday evening. Ate outside. Seating was very comfortable. Decor was what we expected at a mexican establishment. We enjoyed 2 fajita dishes: one with Chicken and the other with Chicken and Shrimp. We also had an appetizer which offered small tasting portions of different main courses, but you really don't need one as the fajita portions are quite large. Everything was very tasty and met our expectations as frequent tex-mex patrons over several decades in both Germany and the US. Service was fantastic. Friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend and look forward to...
Read moreGreat beer garden, good service, but horrible food. 3 out of 4 of us agreed on this. 1.not mexican at all 2.gummy steak (nobody asked how to cook it), dry unseasoned spareribs, salads soaked in mayonnaise saus Fried fries were fat and soft
One exception is the burger, that one was alright,my colleague told me. Beer is also a safe choice.
Most people had to go to the bathroom the same evening, so we doubt there hygiene code conductance as well.
I hope they will improve sooon, because it is a...
