If you are in Steinau, you must stay here! We first visited the Brataehnchenfarm restaurant 20 years ago when we were stationed in Hanau Germany but we had never stayed in the hotel part until this month. We had the opportunity to return on a work trip to Germany and when making plans we decided we had to include the "Chicken Farm." I emailed asking questions and the responses were quick and answered everything. We were so excited they were able to accommodate us and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely with a lovely balcony so we could watch the sun rise. The comfortable bed with down comforters was like floating on clouds and the bathroom was great. I even loved the shower. Breakfast was included with our room rate and we were treated to the traditional Germany breakfast with breads, meats, cheeses, fruit and eggs. Scrambled eggs can be cooked to your liking. The staff was amazing and we were so thankful we had decided to make another visit. Just wish we could have stayed longer. We have so many memories of our time in Germany from the late 90's and now we can add to those memories. We look forward to another trip and this will be a must do again! Thank you to the Brataehnchenfarm form making out...

Read moreDuring my military service in Germany (1969-1970), a group of my fellow officers and I would have a monthly outing at the Brathahnchenfarm that was a lot of fun. It was always at night so I never saw the place in the daylight and never realized that it was also a hotel as well as a great eating place. In planning my trip to Germany, this was the first place my wife and I wanted to stay. It is somewhat off the beaten track but well worth seeking out with your GPS. The room was very good, the bath large and up-to-date. We had a large picture window and a french door opening onto a spacious private balcony. It had the largest parking lot of any of the eight hotels we visited in the three weeks we spent in Germany (Sept '13). It was a perfect place to recover from jet lag (quiet and restful) and is just 51 miles (82k) from the Frankfurt Airport. The food was what got me there originally and after 40 years, it's still what I remembered, very, very good. This was our base camp for exploring the area and the starting point for the "Fairytale Road" of Germany. The rate was 70€ for two, very reasonable; with a very good breakfast included. Thanks Radi, we enjoyed our stay..... Travelers from...
