The Sansibar isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a Sylt institution and my personal pilgrimage spot every time I visit the island. Whether for lunch, sunset drinks, or a long dinner, the experience is always unforgettable.

Why It’s Special: ✔ Iconic Location – Right by the water with unbeatable views, especially at golden hour. The mix of rustic charm and relaxed luxury is pure Sylt magic. ✔ Perfect "Sylt Vibe" – That effortless blend of elegance and barefoot ease, where you’ll spot both locals and celebrities just enjoying life. ✔ Menu Highlights – The fish dishes are insanely fresh (their tuna steak is legendary), and even simple things like fries with Sylt salt or their oysters feel like an event. ✔ Sunset Drinks – Their cocktail list is short but excellent—order a "Sansibar Gin Tonic" and watch the sky turn pink over the Wadden Sea.

Pro Tips: Reservations are a must (book weeks ahead in summer).

Go for late lunch if you want a quieter vibe.

Even if you don’t dine, stop by for a glass of wine at the bar—just soaking up the atmosphere is worth it.

Bottom Line: No trip to Sylt feels complete without a stop here. It’s not cheap, but it’s 100% worth it for the memories. Already planning my...

Sansibar, an exceptional restaurant located on the island of Sylt, is renowned for its culinary delights, particularly its exceptional Wiener Schnitzel, exquisite Chardonnay, and a variety of fish dishes. Nestled among the picturesque sand dunes of Sylt, Sansibar offers its guests a unique dining experience with stunning views of both the undulating dunes and the expansive sea. The setting of the restaurant is both captivating and serene, providing an ideal backdrop for a memorable meal. The ambiance is further enhanced by the warm and welcoming staff, known for their friendliness and relaxed demeanor. This combination of superb cuisine, breathtaking location, and amiable service makes Sansibar a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Sylt. The restaurant's ability to blend fine dining with a casual, inviting atmosphere sets it apart as a culinary jewel on the island. Whether it's the perfectly breaded Wiener Schnitzel, the carefully selected Chardonnay, or the fresh, flavorful fish dishes, Sansibar promises an unforgettable dining experience that captures the essence of Sylt's unique charm and...

I would simply guess there are not many places essentially everyone has already heard of when it comes to Sylt, but the "Sansibar" is one of them. It still is a kind of "cult" and goes far beyond eating and drinking. You can meanwhile have all kinds of merchandise with the iconic logo of the two crossed pirate swords ⚔. It's quite posh and this can sometimes be a little annoying but still a very beautiful spot directly located in close proximity to the beach. The food is delicious and fresh but the place is usually totally overgrowded, so you better be prepared to stay with a drink outside and enjoy the view and the spirit. I love the strawberry punch which consists of strawberry wine, prosecco and presh strawberries and is superb delicious and refreshing. It's 9,-€ a glass but that's Sansibar where you are and you better get used to it 😜. Little advice, the parking lot is usually also crowded and will cost you. If you just pass it than a 100m further ahead is a public parking lot for free and usually with more free space. It's just you have to walk a bit and this is for some people obviously a...

What a nice place! As always: - location - food - service - Fazit 😊 We were 8 people. 4 adults, 4 kids. Went there 11:45 as the restaurant opens at 12 and you have to line up as the quantity of people allowed is limited (corona). So be there in time!.... But there are lots of places. Inside and outside as well. The terrace offers some electric heating as well. We had a table outside. Just big enough for 8 guests. The playground is just close by. So you can relax and watch your children play. Corona: all waiters wear a mask! Youl find desinfection on several entrances. There is limited access to the area because of corona. The food was good. Not outstanding but good. As it is Sylt... It's a bit expensive. But worthwhile. We hat pasta, fish soup, sushi, salat, fish and chips, Kaiserschmarrn, coffee, water and truffle fries (!). The service was very good. Quick, very friendly and really taking care of us. So overall? Yes it's a posh place, sponsored by Daimler, SAP and others. Prices are quit high but it's worthwhile going there. Plan to spend a few hours there. You won't regret it
