My wife and found this restaurant last week (November 2013) while touring Bavaria. It has to be among the most beautiful areas anywhere (Lake Plansee should not be missed). During the warm weather months, they have a very nice outdoor seating area, but it was a bit cold for that for us on this day.

The restaurant is a traditional Gasthaus, and the seating is family style. We were seated with two other local couples. The Frau (waitress) spoke some English, and they had menus available in English as well.

We sampled the local beers produced by the local monastery (Kloster Brauerei), and they were excellent. We both had different types of schnitzel. My wife had a schnitzel stuffed with mustard and breaded. Mine was topped with a layer of sliced tomato and cheese. They were both excellent. Their house is roasted duck. We finished our meal with...

Technically perfect Bavarian cuisine. The restaurant is an authentic place where authentic food is served, with a nice dining room and a garden perfect for lunch or dinner, surrounded by the wonderful landscape of Linderhof. All their Bavarian dishes are recommended. Also the sausages, cooked and served in the best German style. Credit cards are not accepted and the staff only speaks German, but both the provision of cash and the effort of translation are worth it to enjoy the place and, undoubtedly, one of the best cuisines in the area. I hope to visit...

We were on our way home after visiting Linderhof Palace and stumbled upon this gem! The food was absolutely magnificent & authentic Bavarian cuisine at its best. Even though it was cold outside, we chose to sit outdoors, and the staff’s hospitality made it perfect. They kindly offered us blankets and seat cushions to keep us cozy. We’ll definitely be coming back! 💛💛💛

Das will was heißen!!! Jederzeit gerne wieder!
