Restaurant Hubertus — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Schluchsee

What a perfectly beautiful setting for fantastic food. My husband and I loved the Hubertus Restaurant so much that we ate all of our meals there during our three-day visit to the Schluchsee area. Stephan and his partner Francisca do a wonderful job of preparing excellent meals for their guests.

I have some food allergies and the kitchen did a fine job of creating tasty vegan, gluten-free meals that I enjoyed each and every time we dined. For those of you in search of a delicious plant-based meal, I highly recommend Hubertus—but the non-vegan diners in the restaurant also seemed beyond satisfied.

Can we talk about the view? Honestly you could have given me a bowl of cornflakes and I would have been happy—the view of the tranquil lake is spectacular.

Service was friendly and efficient. One evening we were late getting back to the hotel, but Stephan took care to make sure our dinners were ready for us when we returned. It's truly inspirational to meet young people with a passion for their business and the skill set to make their business plan come to life. We will be sure to return.

La vue sur le lac est splendide et l’hôtel est parfait. En revanche, le restaurant est une véritable catastrophe !!! Le service a été exécrable : dès le début, le serveur a râlé parce que ma femme et moi avions changé de table (nous lui avions simplement signalé que nous nous mettions à l’intérieur car il faisait froid). Ensuite, il est venu nous dire de manière agressive : « Une fois ici, une fois là… ». Il s’est même trompé de plat et, au lieu de s’excuser, il a râlé quand nous lui avons fait remarquer que ce n’était pas le bon. Le lendemain matin, au petit-déjeuner, il s’est encore permis une réflexion sarcastique : « Alors cette fois-ci, vous changez combien de fois de table ? » — devant les autres clients, visiblement gênés.

À côté de ça, d’autres personnes se plaignaient aussi de leurs repas. Le nôtre était désastreux : steak haché congelé, plats insipides…

Bref, à éviter absolument. Seule la vue sauve l’endroit, mais le restaurant, lui, est à fuir !!!!!

Der Blick auf den See ist traumhaft und das Hotel ist perfekt. Doch das Restaurant ist eine absolute Katastrophe. Der Service war schrecklich: Der Kellner beschwerte sich sofort, weil meine Frau und ich den Tisch gewechselt hatten (wir hatten ihm nur gesagt, dass wir wegen der Kälte nach drinnen gehen). Danach meinte er in aggressivem Ton: „Einmal hier, einmal dort…“. Er brachte uns sogar das falsche Gericht und regte sich auf, als wir ihm sagten, dass es nicht das richtige war. Am nächsten Morgen beim Frühstück machte er erneut eine spöttische Bemerkung: „Und wie oft wechseln Sie heute den Tisch?“ – vor den anderen Gästen, die ebenfalls irritiert waren.

Auch andere Gäste beschwerten sich über das Essen. Unser Essen war eine Katastrophe: tiefgekühltes Hacksteak, geschmacklose Gerichte…

Fazit: Nur der Blick ist schön – das Restaurant sollte man unbedingt meiden.

The view of the lake is stunning and the hotel itself is perfect. Unfortunately, the restaurant is a complete disaster. The service was terrible: the waiter complained right away because my wife and I had changed tables (we had simply told him we were moving inside because it was cold). He then came to us in an aggressive tone, saying: “Once here, once there…”. He even brought the wrong dish and got upset when we pointed out it wasn’t what we had ordered. The next morning at breakfast, he made another sarcastic remark: “So, how many times are you changing tables today?” – in front of other guests, who also seemed dissatisfied.

Other customers were complaining too. Our meal was a disaster: frozen hamburger steak, tasteless food…

In short: only the view is worth it. The restaurant itself is absolutely not...

I would give only one star, but I'd like to think that the staff had a bad day. The main issue is that we had to wait for over an hour for our food which wasn't even fancy. There weren't a large number of clients either. The waiters appologized two times that it takes such a long time, even without having inquired ourselves. We also had two small children which made the wait even more frustrating. One waiter who brought straws for the children sneezed in his hands right before he handed the us straws with the same hand. The burgers and fries were very salty. The pasta for children is embarrassingly non-complicated. I needed to change the diaper and couldn't find a changing corner. I ended up doing it on the floor. As said, I think it was a rare occurrence of wrongly aligned constellations... I hope so. The place is rather nice, the views are very...
