We stayed here as part of a large group for 3 nights. The hotel layout is a bit strange. The ground floor consists of a grotty public bar with pool table and darts board and which is very smoky; and a rather nice restaurant on the other side. You have to walk through the restaurant to check in and get to the lift. The bedrooms are very clean and modern but the bed was extremely hard. The light in the shower room was on a timer triggered by a PIR but this was only set to 90 seconds and after that, if it didn't see you, it would go out. The PIR would not see you if you were sitting on the loo, having a shower or sometimes even when simply standing at the sink! As a result, I got used to doing everything in the dark. Others in our party had the same problem, some complained but nothing was done about it. ||Wifi was free but it was very weak in the bedrooms and some of our party couldn't get it in their bedrooms at all.||On a safety point of vieew, the fire exits were not clearly marked. It was only on the second day that I managed to find the stairs between the ground floor and the first floor. I could find the stairs leading up from the first floor but none going down as they were in a separate part of the building. I would never have found them in a fire. There were no directions on the back of the doors and the two plans I saw hanging in the hallway seemed to contradict each-other. I decided that as we were only on the first floor, if I needed to get out in a hurry, I'd jump off the balcony.||Apart from that I did feel the staff were very friendly...

Read moreI stayed here in September for two nights. The hotel is in a small village a few miles outside of Schwabisch Hall. There is a good sized car park but it did get busy. My room was lovely, a really good size and modern bathroom. I was travelling on my own with my dog and had booked a single room but got a lovely double bed. My dog got a mat on the floor with two dog bowls provided - he appreciated that nice touch. I found the bed comfortable but think some people may find the mattress a tad firm.||The restaurant was fully booked (and it was a Monday night) but the helpful staff found me a table. I had an excellent meal on both nights and found the prices very reasonable. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.||The only disappointment was the pub. It was REALLY smoky with people smoking cigarettes and I didn't even stay for one drink as it was so unpleasant. I took my drink into the restaurant but felt that kind of defeated the object of choosing a hotel with a bar.||Breakfast was very good, typical continental buffet style.||There was wifi in the restaurant but I couldn't get wifi in my room.||In the surrounding area there were countless lovely walks and I was lucky with the weather so had...
