Landgasthof Jostalstüble — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Titisee-Neustadt

This hotel/restaurant is located several kilometres from Titisee in a rural location for which your own vehicle is indispensable, but there is plenty of parking space around the property. It is located at the roadside so that there is instant traffic noise, if your room overlooks that direction, as mine did. The hotel has a sauna downstairs and a fridge for customer use containing beer, water and soft drinks which guests must pay for. There is also a breakfast room within the hotel itself and direct access to outside, thus avoiding having to pass through the restaurant area. WiFi is also available, but worked fairly badly and couldn't be relied upon, at least in my room.||All in all, this hotel is quite acceptable for an overnight stay as it offers a good view of the Schwarzwald. However, the pillows are too hollow, the WiFi signal is poor and the breakfast needs to improve ||My single occupancy room came with a double bed which had particularly hollow and uncomfortable pillows, making it difficult to have a good night's sleep. There were 2 bedside tables - one large and one small. On the large one could be found a lamp, a telephone and a large MW/VHF radio which did switch on, but couldn't find any stations. There was also a round table in the room with a reading book on top, an armchair, a sofa, a desk on top of which there were a kettle, 2 mugs and tea/coffee sachets and on the wall, there was a TV with many channels. ||There was breakfast in the morning which was not as good as at some other guesthouses as it consisted mainly of rather bland bread rolls with ham and cheese although cereal was also available. ||The bathroom was nicely-tiled and comprised of a bath tub which could also be used to take a shower plus a...

The place itself is very nice, the staff are lovely and it's in a good location. The problems are that most of the staff don't speak English which makes staying there harder for anyone who doesn't speak German, the breakfast is very dull and lacks variety, and the biggest problem of all: the so called "Free WiFi" is a total lie. The WiFi in this place is terrible if it even exists, using their WiFi you will be lucky if you would be able to send a single message (oh and by the way, there is no cell reception there[!]). So to summarize, if you're looking for a place to disconnect or have no problem being disconnected from the outside world for your entire stay, then this is the place for you. If thise things don't apply to you then please, think twice before...
