We were at the hotel for 7 nights. It was just perfect! A pastoral, beautiful, authentic, intimate location. Very spacious, beautiful and very clean rooms. Food in the morning was very fresh and tasty. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to most attractions in the Black Forest area. But the thing that surprised us the most, is a personal and warm attitude from the hotel owners. Every morning the owner of the place approached us, asked how we were, was interested in our plans for the day, recommended what to do and where to go. We felt part of a family. Good job! Wir waren zum Essen, sind allerdings diesesmal eingeladen worden. Nun zu meiner Einschätzung und Bewertung. Der Gastraum ist traditionell in angenehmen Holz Schwarzwald Stil. Parkplätze sind meistens ausreichend vorhanden. Die Salattheke ist in Ordnung aber nichts besonderes, könnte teilweise Convenience Ware sein. Speisekarte ist überschaubar und schnell durchgelesen, was normalerweise kein schlechtes Zeichen sein muss. Die Qualität des Essens ist ok, könnte aber durchaus, zum Beispiel bei den Soßen und einigen Beilagen ebenfalls Convenience Ware sein. Das muss nicht zwanghaft schlecht sein, und für die Gäste noch bezahlbar bleiben. Die männliche Service Kraft war freundlich kommt aber doch etwas ruppig und poltern zu Tisch, könnte durchaus etwas ruhiger, langsamer und seriöser auftreten, gerade ältere Herrschaften mögen so etwas nicht besonders. Und zu guter Letzt: Das Anrichten auf den Tellern sollte etwas modernisiert werden, zum Beispiel, nicht das ganze Fleisch immer mit Soße ertränken (Foto). Mein Fazit: Ich würde das Gasthaus nur bedingt zum Essen gehen empfehlen, deshalb leider nur zwei Sterne. Ich sehe das Gasthaus im Grenzbereich der zukünftigen Gasthaus Kultur die sich derzeit in Deutschland massiv abzeichnet, entweder man wird qualitativ um einiges besser, ja leider auch zwangsläufig teurer oder man wird zum Schnell Imbiss/ Autobahn Raststätte für das unter Preissegment, ansonsten überlebt man das Ganze einfach nicht.
