The place itself was quite quaint inside with an open grill where the meats are cooked, service was quick and friendly and always around when needed. The menu is quite straight forward, various meats that can be cooked on the grill with a choice of sides (wild boar chops, steaks, turkey).

I could only rate the food as middling at best; I thought the meat was quite dry and overcooked and the flavoured butter wasn't very enjoyable. Sides were potato cakes which looked like they were bought frozen. No vegetables with the meals.

An amazing and genuine Steak House in the Black Forest. Situated in the hills above Seebach is the Steakhaus Kaminstub'n. The restaurant is run by a lovely couple who even recognized us after a visit 12 years ago. The steaks are cooked on an open charcoal grill in the middle of the dining room by the owner, while his wife takes orders and provides the drinks. Das Ambiente ist schön. Das Highlight ist sicherlich der indoor-Holzkohlegrill. Hiervon geht keinerlei Geruchsbelästigung aus. Auch die Klamotten stinken nach dem Besuch nicht. Insgesamt ist das Steakhaus sehr urig eingerichtet, wirkt teils ein wenig überladen, aber alles in allem passt es irgendwie auch.

Der Service ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Die Gäste am Nachbartisch wurden auf englisch ebenso zuverlässig bedient wie wir. Der Koch beherrscht sein Handwerk.

Geschmacklich waren die Steaks hervorragend gewürzt. Durch das recht langsame Grillen waren die Gewürze nicht verbrannt und somit nicht bitter. Trotzdem hatten die Steaks eine schöne Röstung. Die Soßen waren lecker, insbesondere die Bärlauch-Aioli. Auch in Kombination mit einer Coke stieß die Soße trotz des kräftigen Geschmacks nicht unangenehm auf. Zu den wedges eine super Kombination. Die scharfe Soße war ebenfalls lecker, allerdings verfälscht diese den zarten, sehr guten Fleischgeschmack, weshalb ich sie nur einmal probiert habe.

Für einen angemessenen Preis wird man hier absolut satt. An der Grammzahl fehlt es dem Steak für diesen Preis auf keinen Fall. Der obligatorische Beilagensalat war zwar ebenfalls sehr lecker, aber für Steak-Fans dann wirklich nur obligatorisch für's gute...
