Berggasthaus Braunbergstüble — Restaurant in Verwaltungsverband Oberes Renchtal

We were looking for a quiet place in the Black Forest, from where we could make long hikes in the eponimous National Park. The Braunbergstüble turned out to be ideal. We were there in January 2024, just outside the holiday season. The location is great, there are plenty of well-marked walking trails in the immediate vicinity. The National Park is within a 30 minutes ride. And the people who run the stüble, Angela, Klaus and Irmgard are simply fabulous. Since I am quite tall, they bought me an extra long duvet, No more nightly struggles with a short duvet!! We were the only ones enjoying breakfast and still they managed to offer a breakfast buffet. Delightful surprise at the top of the hill, the restaurant is located in a beautiful hill side near Bad Peterstal and we just made the right choice asking for the Wildragout, just flawless, tender and juice meat with the perfectly seasoned reduction including the red pepper that together with a delicious Preiselbeeren sauce was a high contrast of flavor, from fresh and sweet to spicy and so nicely presented as shown in the picture attached to this review. We were there for a dinner finding no clear information in internet about the restaurants and distance to them in the area of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach. We followed a recommendation from our hotel and it was worthy.

We ate schnitzel and trout fillets, very tasty cooked with an equally tasty salad, we drank cold beer before and only a glass of wine at the meal, and we ate tart with cherries, all very tasty and locally made.

Nice atmosphere, cheerful people, clean mountain air, green summer view, many parking spaces, possibility to walk in the area, playground for children, prompt and friendly service.
