Two of us visited this restaurant for a full course dinner and our expectations were high as I travel to rural Germany a lot for work and I generally find the rural food in Germany to be bland, heavy and unappealing. The restaurant atmosphere was cosy and the lady waiter was pleasant. However there was one recurring major problem for us here which is that all dishes were very salty. We were not sure if this is due to the preference of the local patrons of this restaurant, or masking the issue of poor ingredients? We couldn’t understand this. For us, the delicacy of taste of each dish was overwhelmed by too much salt and the essences of the taste of ingredients were destroyed by it. The presentation of the dishes and the chef's creativity seemed intact, so this was unfortunate. We will not be returning to this place.

We had a wonderful time at Gasthof Alex from the moment we stepped into their guest house until our departure. Dinner was undoubtedly 5-star; the 6-course menu was perfectly portioned and each dish was thoroughly enjoyable. The restaurant also boasts an interesting wine list. Most importantly, thanks to Madlen's kind hospitality and friendliness, we felt right at home. Thank you, Madlen. We look forward to visiting Gasthof Alex again!

Sowohl das Frühstück als auch der sonntägliche Mittagstisch haben unsere Erwartungen nicht nur erfüllt, sondern übertroffen. Das Frühstück war innovativ, kreativ und liebevoll zubereitet – ein frischer Wind, der Mut zur modernen Küche zeigt. Am Sonntag hingegen erwartete uns eine bodenständig-traditionelle Küche, wie man sie sich wünscht: ehrlich, geschmackvoll und mit viel Herz gekocht. Der Außenbereich ist ein Traum – ein herrlicher Ort, um abzuschalten, die Seele baumeln zu lassen und mit der Familie in entspannter Atmosphäre zu schlemmen. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben: Keine langen Wartezeiten, exzellenter Service und Speisen, die durchweg eine 10/10 verdienen. Ein persönliches Highlight: Das Rehgulasch – perfekt rosa gegart – war für mich das beste, das ich in meinem bisherigen 30-jährigen Leben gegessen habe. Solcher Mut zur Qualität und Gastlichkeit sollte belohnt werden. Wir kommen garantiert wieder!
