We recently stayed at the Hotel Stadtkrug as part of a group reunion, and found it to be pretty average on the whole. That being said, it was the cheapest room we stayed in during the whole trip, and the price can't be beat!||||The rooms are small, like big enough for a bed and maybe a small desk, but that's about it. There was a cabinet in the room as well, but we did not use it. Our room faced another building, so we couldn't really ever have the curtains open as we noticed on several occasions people staring into the room. The bathroom was adequate, again, nothing special. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Weiden, within easy walking distance to the city center and shopping. That was very nice. ||||The restaurant and the service was good. Read moreIf you are expecting Hilton or Hyatt-style accommodations this isn't your place. The Stadtkrug is a European-style hotel. That means tiny to smallish rooms, limited amenities, and a staff which is somewhat limited in being able to converse with Americans. The staff, however, tries awfully hard to converse, and really aims to please. ||That said, location to the town square of Weiden is perfect (restaurants, beer gardens, shops). The hotel's restaurant may be one of the best in town, and I mean the food is wonderful, as well as reasonably priced. Best still, the hotel has a nice bar and beer garden, with typically fantastic German brew. Three tips: Rent a compact car if you want to park in the garage. Make sure you reserve a room with a double bed even if you are staying solo. Finally, bring a sheet, since German hotels (even 5-star hotels) don't provide...
