The atmosphere and decorations are excellent! It’s a bit of a shame that the children’s area is closed because not many restaurants have one at all. Thanks, COVID! The food here is great. One would go here for a family-friendly evening rather than for a major anniversary or celebration but it’s still good food and worth the visit. As is expected of a quality restaurant, it was clean! The ablutions were adequate but a bit tight considering everyone is trying to abide by protective measures against COVID-19. This is NOT the restaurant’s fault—it’s in an old building so modernizing is difficult. For Canadian, American, or English-speaking visitors, they have an English menu. This is another major plus since not many places in the area do. That alone makes the visit that much easier. It was great overall. This place is worth a visit.

We had a delicious meal at Schinderhannes! The food was full of rich, traditional German flavors, and everything we tried was excellent. The kids enjoyed it too, which is always a win. The only small downside was the timing—we visited on a Friday, and most of the special menu items I was looking forward to were either not available that day or had already sold out. That said, the regular menu still delivered, and we definitely plan to come back on a weekend to try the specials! Great atmosphere, solid service, and a place we’d happily return to.

Great place to eat pretty simple and pretty cheap too, if you like me and not from Germany, its a good spot to go eat. They got massive snitchelz for 7 euros. That's pretty cheap for a big peice of meat. Parking is alright it's on a main road so can be tricky finding a spot. Sometimes / most times its packed and then sometimes it just ain't busy. Great place. cheers guys.

My husband and I have dined here multiple times. On 5 Dec we arrived around 19:15. Three tables around us we’re finishing up their meal, paying, and leaving. Our server greeted us. She was very polite. We ordered our drinks and approximately 10 minutes later, we ordered our meal. 45 minutes later I finally received my goulash soup. Shortly after that both mine and my husband’s meals arrived. Meanwhile, the three tables around us had new customers sitting then there, received their food, and were pretty much done eating before I even got my soup. Needless to say, I was not happy. I could not understand what was taking so long for our meal to arrive when we clearly ordered before any of the tables around us. After we ate, I asked for a to go box for my noodles and sauce. They only had tinfoil to offer me. It took 17 minutes for our server to acknowledge that we were finished eating. She should focus less on rolling silverware and more on the customers at their tables. By the time we paid and left...

If you like restaurants in theme parks, or event gastronomy, or generally faux authentic places, then this is your thing. This is a place where the food would like to be traditional, but fails to do so. Where highwaymen are painted on the walls (this is the theme, actually) and where guests do not wash their hands when they leave the toilets.

No to be fair: if you have a family with lots of small kids you may enjoy the Schinderhannes. There is a children's corner, prices are on the cheap side, and chances are that the food does not actually kill you (other than in a few places I know elsewhere). Also, if you are 17 and you want to get your 15 year old girlfriend to a date before going to the movies with her, this might be a thing for you.

The thing to learn is this: avoid places that look half like a peasant's home and half like a...

Imagine a traditional German restaurant got hit with a cartoon-ray. That's what you walk up to when visiting this treat for the eyes and taste buds. The atmosphere is a lot of fun, from the neat carvings and character on the walls to the fully cartoonized menu. I was happy with just that. But then came the food.

I ordered the schnitzel sight unseen. After ordering I saw one pass and began to try to mentally prepare myself for the battle ahead. This schnitzel is no joke. It is absolutely massive. Shockingly though, the don't just let the size be the reason to order it. This was the most delicious schnitzel I've ever had. I was actually able to get the whole thing down, much to my surprise and joy.

I would highly recommend this to anyone, whether you be a local or someone passing through for a day. Easily my favorite restaurant...
