This is a very beautiful place with expansive panoramic views from the mountain top looking down over the valleys and forests overlooking Ramstein Air Base, Landstuhl Hospital, and the city of Kaiserslautern off in the distance. If you are traveling to Germany to visit patients at the hospital or flying to Europe through Ramstein, you likely already know the prices on base on 1 November 2019 jumped from $71 dollars a night over $150 a night with no breakfast and few amenities. Why pay it when you can pay nearly a third of that price and stay in one of the 5 double rooms, or 3 large apartments, or 3 of the detached family apartments with a very nice breakfast included? The owners are extremely polity and friendly people who speak English. The hotel is exactly 12 kilometers from Ramstein airbase and 18 kilometers from LRMC. Call them to make a reservation, the internet says they are booked up pointing you in other directions; don't count on that, just call them. ||||I am gluten intolerant. When I checked in, I told them I don't want bread for breakfast, I cannot eat it. Early in the morning the owner's wife ran and got me gluten free bread roles for breakfast and yes, they were very good. The dinners she cooked for me were gluten free and they were delusions. The Beef Bourguignon she made was so tender a fork shredded it very easily and the sauce was so succulent. The classic German potato balls she made were also gluten free and I had missed them very much since my childhood. The red cabbage was perfect. The winter salads are very healthy and tasty. The next night she cooked me an incredibly tasty red bass in citrus-dill sauce over a bed of rice which was also flavorful. How many hotels do you know that will cater to your gluten free needs with superb food? ||||There are walking trails nearby and this is a perfect place to use as a base camp while exploring Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France; all in close proximity. As well you can see local sites like the Cochem castle, Trier, Koln (Cologne), the Mosel Valley, and the Rheingau Regions' vineyards. Ask Oliver for other things to do in the area. The rooms are lavishly equipped with radiant floor heating, which your toes will love, and electric rolladens for added warmth and privacy. My apartment was fully stocked with the full kitchen with nice appliances, pots & pans and all the utensils I needed to prepare my own food and sizeable refrigerator and nice oven. The cows nearby great you in the morning, and I saw an incredible flock of cranes landing nearby. I am not sure if they were Demoiselle, Sandhill, or common crane. There are a few types of deer and many other animals in the countryside. It is overall a very tranquil and relaxing place to stay only a few minutes’ drive from the military bases. I highly recommend staying here if you are flying into Ramstein or getting treatment at or visiting a patient in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at a very fair price far cheaper...

On a fine sunny day there is no view from any other restaurant that is better. It is a family run restaurant and the care they take preparing their cuisine is unmatched. We've been there four times and tried a variety of dishes, each time the food has been among the best in the area. They always offer a tantalizing special dishes as well as a variety of delicious items on the regular menu. I highly recommend you take to drive up to enjoy the view, have some beverage out on their large patio, and enjoy some fine cuisine. The prices are very reasonable....
