If you are looking for a genuine authentic German restaurant old style with typical local food, here you are right. The Restaurant is serving beer, applewine and some food. Hey, this is Germany, we love this! The food is schnitzel (of course), steak and some local Frankfurt green sauce dishes. Obviously they have in autumn every first Friday a month a "Schlachtfest". Schlachtfest or slaughter fest is a very old German tradition related to the slaughtering of animals in the Fall before Winter sets in. This guaranteed genuine German food. You will love this! I will try in December and will make reservation though! Additional there is a weekly changing menu as well. I had the Jaegerschnitzel with French fries, and it arrived Jaegerschnitzel with French fries, nothing to worry about, tastes good! Stuff was very friendly and attentive, several times asking, if all is okay. That how it should be. A little tip maybe for the chef, if i amallowed to, the schnitzels are delicious and crispy. Maybe serve the sauce separately, otherwise the breading will soften and the schnitzel will no longer be crispy....a pity. For me pricing is okay, according to Wiesbaden. Früher war ich oft und gerne im Hirsch (noch unter der Leitung von Bert Ruppert). Am Donnerstag wollte ich meinem Sohn das Restaurant zeigen, "sehr gute bürgerliche Küche" hab ich ihm versprochen. Na klar, die Preise sind insgesamt gestiegen und wenn die Qualität stimmt habe ich kein Problem damit. Leider wurde ich hier im Hirsch dahingehend enttäuscht. Das Jägerschnitzel von meinem Sohn war okay, ich hatte einen Caesars Salad mit Hühnchenstreifen für 19.20 Euro bestellt. Ich liebe diesen Salat und weiß wie er schmecken sollte. Bekommen habe ich einen Romanasalat mit ein paar Parmesanspänen,ohne croutons, gebratenem Hühnchen und mit einer Soße, die so sauer war, dass ich sie nicht essen konnte. (Diese Soße wird auf allen anderen Salaten ebenfalls benutzt, was mir zeigt, dass es keine originale Caesarssoße ist- was den hohen Preis hätte rechtfertigen können 😞) ich ließ das Gericht zurück gehen und bestellte mir von der Tageskarte einen Miniburger mit Fritten. Die Pommes frites waren top, das Burgerpattie leider trocken und geschmacklos, das Innenleben des Buns traurig und lieblos. Ich habe dann den Rest Schnitzel von meinem Sohn und die Pommes gegessen, den Burger habe ich liegen gelassen. Die Servicekraft oder der Besitzer (?!?) sprach mich nochmal darauf an und ich erklärte ihm, dass das Pattie leider sehr trocken ist. Er erklärte mir wiederum, dass es gerade frisch gemacht wurde. Was soll ich sagen..... ich bin enttäuscht. Der Service war sehr nett und bemüht, das Ambiente ist ja sowieso super. Essen werde ich hier allerdings nicht...

A good eatery with traditional German food and beers with well sized portions and a great service. The toilets are nice and clean and it’s wheelchair accessible too. The Schnitzel are super and coupled with a large selection of dishes just right for everyone. The prices are reasonable and I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
