Landgasthof Zur Brücke — Restaurant in Wiesentheid

We stayed one night at this hotel in September 2014. Wiesenthheid is one of many small towns near the autobahn that cater for travellers passing through Germany. The hotel is well located in the centre and has plenty of parking space. We got a good room with plenty og space, clean and with good beds. No problem either with the breakfast. So the negative side is the personnell. Very business-like to the point of not seeming friendly. We used their restaurant in the evening - reasonable without being exceptional- but when one of our party pointed out that part of the meal was not wuite what we had expected from the menu, the short, sharp reply was "then you should have chosen something else" with no sign of trying to help. So its OK to stay here if you avoid the restaurant but I think we will look for somehwere...

We have eaten at the restaurant for the third time over as many years. Today's visit was the least satisfactory. Several dishes were sold out at 18:00 - shortly after they opened to a small crowd. What we ordered took an hour for items that should have taken 10-15 minutes. Most disappointing was the taste; each dish was just bland and uninspired. Unfortunately, this attractive restaurant aspires to be more - and charges accordingly. On precious visits, I would have given 4 marks. Today it was...
