I am happy with the massive renovations done by Tayiba. I am sure it cost so much knowing how these projects financially drain businesses.
Last Friday, we visited to have dinner and admire the new look. We ordered one tilapia which comes with two balls of banku. We then asked for additional two balls of banku making 4 balls of banku with one tilapia. We told our waiter that we need to have more pepper to go with it because of the extra banku. He said don't worry madam. By the time the food arrived, the pepper was 3 tiny pieces of the plastic container used to serve rice when taking out food. When we asked if this is all the pepper we get for 4 balls of banku, he said yes. To have additional pepper we have to pay 5cedis for that tiny little plastic pepper. Long story short, we ended up not being able to eat all the banku because it was simply not possible to do so with the quantity of pepper.
We complained to the supervisors after our meal but the usual we are sorry is all we got.
I think no matter how much money we spend in infrastructural upgrades and renovations, if the the service does not match up, it will be a complete waste of money in the end. At the end of the day, the customer must have a meal worth returning to and this...
Read moreThe scenery from the deck was beautiful. The trading hours was incorrectly recorded on Google Maps and had to amend it before we left the place. It looks like a nice place to hang with a group of people. We were a bit disappointed with our order for food and drinks. Upon arrival, I ordered Gordon’s London Dry Gin and club tonic and the waiter (Bright) gave me an assurances that indeed they do have Gordon’s London Dry Gin only to disappoint me later when he came with only the club tonic water and two slices of lemon in a highball glass. My companion and I ordered goat light soup and light tilapia soup with banku, respectively. Strangely both bowls of soup tasted the same with an exception of the added animal factor. As a result, my companion did not enjoy their food. I found the location of the washroom problematic. They are located on the deck level and the facility had a tilted thatched roof so it’s going to be a challenge for a person greater than my height (1.75 m) to urinate there. Finally, we found that getting an Uber or Taxify even a local taxi was very easy as the place located on the busy Haatso...

About a year ago, I visit Tayiba with a friend, we decided to sit upstairs and some part of the floor was blocked off.. I also realised the ceiling had some holes.. But I did not think much of it. Fast forward, this year, I visited the place again, and I noticed the same issue. Unfortunately this time around, it rained heavily (and what I ignored last year made an impression this year).
My FOOD, BAGS, SHOES, EVERYTHING WAS WET! And with how the wood was wet, it was so easy to slip and fall. (although this did not happen to me)
FOOD I ordered for Fufu with Tilapia soup and Pork Gari Fortor. Yes, the food was delicious, but with the bad atmosphere and experience, I could barely...
