One of the best restaurants in northern Greece if not the best, no doubt! The food here is "honest", delicious, very well priced and cooked with the passion of the tradition but following modern quality standards! Excellent value for money at all levels, very professional polite and discreet service, amazing food, variety of the best wines, beautiful atmosphere, you name it! A family business like it should be. Unfortunately the Michelin guide will never visit Sklithro to discover this diamond, otherwise they would definitely give them a star!
At the end of our meal the owner, Thomas himself, gave us a tour at the restaurants exclusive wine cellar, hosting very rare and extremely vintage Greek wines even from the 50s!!!
Our bill was 79 euros for a bottle of a local vintage reserve xinomavro wine, 3 starters, 2 mains and extra dessert.
If you visit the region for a long weekend, it's worth it to eat at Thomas twice! If you are close to the area a detour is totally worth it. Cant wait to...

All the dished we were well made and tasted very good. Our main was the Angus rib eye which was perfectly cooked and had a great texture in the mouth. Again all 4 were very satisfying. I'd go with the mushrooms if I had to choose only one.

He sounded very arrogant making a "take it or leave it" offer and kept making it more complicated, saying that we might have to wait until 7:00 for table to empty. We arrived at 6:30 and the place was only 20% booked. With the rest 80% of the table being set already, meaning the previous customers had left long ago. Unnecessary hassle for nothing. They have to get more flexible...
Read moreOne of the best restaurants for local Greek cuisine, literally in the middle of nowhere. A pleasant surprise awaits you when you step in this restaurant, with a very nice & even luxurious décor. The staff is really professional & Thomas him self, with a friendly & professional approach, explains all the dishes & also acts as sommelier. The cuisine is based in local ingredients and all the dishes we tried were really good!!! Don't miss the "trahanoto" with porcini it is one of the best dishes you can try both in texture & taste!!! Also you must have the local red peppers, they usually serve with cheese. The wine list is really rich and we visited the cellar where even the most demanding wine connoisseur will find bliss!!! I totally recommend it to anyone travelling in the area, & even worth a detour just to visit it......
