From the beginning, our experience of the sunset pessada was horrific. I arrived with 4 other friends and we’re greeted by a miserable and rude waiter. As soon as we stepped inside the restaurant (with our suitcases) he was shooing us away and saying “no no no!” We weren’t aware there was a ‘baggage area’ - there are no signs nor did the waiter tell us beforehand. One of my friends chuckled in shock and his response was “NO LAUGHING!!” Basically telling her to shut up. We were actually scared to order things just because we didn’t want to upset him. It’s like they don’t even want customers !!! His co-worker arrived and we were relieved seeing and she seemed much more approachable and was actually smiling. We were wrong. Every couple of minutes she would come over and criticise how we were acting, sitting and looking. They seem to want to look very sophisticated even though it’s right next to the beach (people walking around in their swimsuits) and they get very very few customers. When receiving our ordered food my friend found hair in his food… my friend made jokes suggesting they probably did much worse to our food seeing as they acted like they HATED us. As well as this, another (older) couple came in and I kid you not the waiters personality COMPLETELY changed. They actually acted respectful and kind to them. Maybe because they can spend more money than five 18 year old students ? But equally we spent a fortune each due to their extortionate prices ! (1 coke is €2.50 but the set price on the van says €0.55.) They also have practically no vegetarian options. We ended up getting lots of starters (bread, pitta, chips, tzatziki and a block of feta.) In summary, we were sat at this restaurant from 2-6 (waiting for the ferry) and every second was pure hell. I advise you not to go here unless you...
Read moreAn absolutely fantastic family run taverna close to Pessada Port!! The food is delicious, fresh, hot and all prices are very good. The views are absolutely stunning with the impressive crystal clear Ionian sea directly in front of you, along with Zakynthos and views of Mount Ainos to your left. The service here is brilliant, friendly and quick, with a friendly family atmosphere, with some great Greek music playing in the background to add to great Greek feel to the taverna. We were served by a very friendly lady, alongside her toddler daughter, who liked to come over to talk and draw with us, a brilliant friendly, relaxed and typically Greek welcome and atmosphere. The lady was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. An absolutely superb taverna, whether you are on a day out to stop for food and drinks or waiting for the ferry boat to Zakynthos, this taverna is a must visit!! Ευχαριστώ...

I arrived with my teenage daughter at 6pm today for a drink, followed by my wife and son during our wonderful holiday so far on this beautiful island.
The owner greeted us nicely, seated us right by the front of the terrace (stunning views) and gave us our drinks very quickly.
We then decided to order some fries and olives and the lovely man actually leaned over and said ‘ Are you OK to wait for 8 minutes for the fries as I need to peel the potatoes and fry them?’ I said ‘of course!’
When they arrived they looked fantastic, tasted fantastic and I had a lovely chat with him about the heat and he said he only uses a proper fire for all cooking!
I would certainly return for a proper meal on another occasion. Highly...
