O MYLOS — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

Strategically positioned on a hill where the wind allows a refreshing break from the summer heat, this traditional taverna with tables on a long terrace is run by Stephanos and his family, that proudly inherited the business from the founder Mylos. It offers a selection of traditional dishes and a breathtaking view on the surrounding country and the blue of the Aegean sea! We had a delicious lunch there: grilled liver and stewed goat that melted in the mouth, the traditional pasta Makaronia that we couldn't find anywhere else and delicious stuffed dolmades. Among the drinks it is possible to choose from the locally produced soft drinks like the refreshing mastika lemonade with ginger or the alcoholic specialities like Suma, the version of ouzo aromatized with figue. Μετά από πολλά χρόνια και κατόπιν προτροπής φίλων πήγαμε για βραδινό. Η θέα είναι μοναδική και ιδικά εάν βρεθεί τραπέζι στην βεράντα. Ότι πήραμε ήταν εξαιρετικά μαγειρεμένο και φτιαγμένα χειροποίητα, όπως και τα λαχανικά/σαλάτες δικά τους. Η σαλάτα με ντομάτα/ξυλαγγουρα από τον κήπο. Χειροποίητα και πολύ καλά: πατατοκαφτεδες - ντολμαδάκια - κουκιά του λαδιού σαλάτα ( εξαιρετική επιλογή, τρυφερότατα) - κολοκυθάκια τηγανητά τραγανά και όχι καμμένα. Η κοκκινιστη κατσίκα με πατάτες τηγανητές λειώνει στο στόμα και τα χερισια μακαρόνια, πραγματικά φτιαγμένα στο χέρι, με εξαιρετική σάλτσα ντομάτας. Την βραδιά για να εξελιχθεί ωραία βοήθησε και ο καιρός με ένα δροσερό αεράκι. Το μαγαζί με μεγάλο εσωτερικό χώρο αλλά που νομίζω ότι χρειάζεται μια ανανέωση και διακόσμηση που σίγουρα θα είναι μαγνήτης για πελάτες και εκτός από του χωριού. Σίγουρα...
