You will find Taverna Plaka (Ταβέρνα Πλάκα), past Arethusa village (Google's got it wrong). Bit of a journey, but oh, so worth it.

Setting? Think big terrace in the hills, surrounded by nature. Sunset views over Evdilos and Karavostamos are a given.

Service? It’s like home, if home came with fantastic food.

Speaking of food, they nail it with fresh, local ingredients.

Dig into these: lamb or goat chops to die for, perfectly cooked lamb, pies, Greek salad with Ikarian cheese, moussaka that’s a game changer, soufiko, stuffed vine leaves, fried cheese rolls, and those crispy fried potatoes.

Prices? Wallet-friendly, and portions are no joke.

The food was so delicious oh gosh!

We arrived when the tavern was clearly under renovation, but the host was so kind to let us in and feed us anyway.

The Greek salad was amazing, fried cheese rolls finger-licking good and the burgers juicy and fresh. The highlight for me was the bread, grilled with oil and some herbs - just amazing. Afterwards we were offered some homemade ice cream. Prices are standard, with Greek salad at 5.50, appetisers between 3-7 and drinks for 1.50

Overall the hospitality and taste of the food make this a 10/10 place! Totally worth...

Excellent views over Evdilos and friendly atmosphere. A bit of a fiddle to get to but quite rewarding. Sunset there is amazing and a wonderful drive up the road to the picturesque Arethusa village. Fresh, local ingredients used. Try pitarakia with Horta and lamb chops. For vegans soufiko is excellent...
