We traveled from a humble village just 30 minutes away, lured by the promise of something extraordinary. And it was worth every kilometer. The lamb was slow-cooked to divine perfection—was worthy of an offering at Apollo’s temple. One bite and I was transported back to my childhood in rural Bosnia, where my grandmother used to cook lalmb this way. The potatoes, having bathed for hours in the sacred juices of the lamb, tasted as though they had been blessed by Demeter, goddess of the harvest. And then came the bread. Crispy on the outside, soft as Hermes’ sandals on the inside. Truly, Gabriel should have sounded his trumpet the moment I bit into it.... because if this is the end of days, I’m ready to meet the gods with a mouthful of carbs. Without question, this is the finest place we have found in Kythnos so far .. worthy not just of a review, but of a place in the Elysian...
Read moreFood was OK but that was about it. Service was shocking. First things first, since we realise the place is crowded we consider asking where to sit before we just jump on a table. They do suggest we sit on a specific table and all seemed ok. After we order the waitress comes and asks us for a “favour”. We had our food and all seemed ok but the tip of the iceberg was that the manager did come and ask us if we need something else and suggested / asked us whether my son would like his food to go(!). Is like he could not have his time to finish his dinner, so we did suggest we get the bill and literally felt very weird about it. Big NO from me. No matter how good the food or the place, service was so bad we will never consider...

Firstly, the local wine tasted like paint stripper. When we asked to change it (offering to pay), the waitress immediately sent the manager to speak with us. We felt like we were being told off.
To the food - All of the pasta dishes were cold and lacked any flavour or seasoning. This then made us think it was the same pasta used for all the dishes (prawn / bolognese). Grilled chicken was average - there is a souvlaki restaurant across the road… come on!! Even the Greek salad lacked flavour (not sure how this is even possible as all the ingredients are fresh!)
