O Meraklis — Restaurant in Lemnos Municipality

Been to this place again a few years back feels like nothing had changed. Probably the best meet you can have on this island made with love and caring. Even on the busiest day like Easter the service and the quality of the food was excellent. We ordered a bunch of food including some burgers, some ribs and the best of the best the "kontosouvli" that's how we call it. You should definitely come here in the summer too. You can sit outside in this amazing village Square in the night and enjoy food. The have many fairs here with music and the guys from The taverna take the barbeque outside and grill all the meat right next to the square. Then they have live music and everyone dances until the late night hours. They play all types of music even sone traditional which you can enjoy watching or even participate if you like. Local wine and of course freezing cold beer is served. This place is the center of this village. Definitely will go back and back again to this place. We even shot a part of a documentary here a few years back. Hopefully more and more people will cone back to this place on this amazing island of limnos. Cooking with love ❤️ makes food taste delicious and the chef at μερακλής cooks scrumptious meals with passion…μερακλής means enthusiastic and passionate. The staff are both. You will become a devotee of the king size salad, fresh bread, delectable dips, succulent meat dishes, local wines and friendly family service. You will be served with a smile and provided with a wide array of tasty, well-cooked, and healthy meals. Kokkonisto beef will melt in your mouth, moskari patsa psilokomenos for the brave and avgolemeno lamb will leave you wanting more. You can eat these flavoursome dishes near the open fire place in winter. In summer the al fresco dining experience will please your tastebuds and fill your stomach. The saganaki cheese wrapped in filo with a drizzle of honey is a delicacy. The appetisers will give you orexi for very fresh vegetables, poultry, lamb, beef or goat. The chickens are expertly cooked on a rotisserie over charcoals, the pork belly is like a “loukoumi”, the chops are special and afterwards the owners treat you to loukoumathes with lashings of honey or creamy yoghurt with a unique ingredient - is it a fruit or vegetable? This was one of our favorite places in Limnos for a decade, but lately the feeling is that this pace is focused more on efficiency rather than high quality food . For instance the fried potatoes added to many of the dishes have been fried long time ago. So they are served cold, and some of them are not properly cooked. We tried a stake for the first time in this restaurant, and for a few moments we wondered whether this is beef at all. The meat was prepared reasonably well (but closer to well done than medium rare), the texture was okay but it had almost no flavor at all. We appreciate the friendly staff, and the fact they are using tech to be more efficient, but in my opinion the restaurant is...
